Our records are almost the same but they have no notable wins? i don't get it.

They are playing at home and have played well there lately. Just beat Louisville there right before Clemson did...

The home between lower-tier ACC teams usually is the favorite. Clemson will likely be the favorite at VT if they win tonight and against FSU on Saturday.

GT has played well at home recently...

Beating NC State, Va. Tech and Louisville at home.
They won at Wake as well.
They are 7-9 in conference play...we are only 1 game ahead of them....not sure why people think we’re so far ahead of teams with similar records.
We will be favored when we play them in Clemson.
Doesn’t matter ultimately...this is a winnable game.
But GT is probably better than their overall record...like we are...when healthy.
