The rule for draft eligibility is 3 years past high school

Dec 16, 2015, 9:03 AM

You can sit at home two years, play 1 year of college and go to the NFL or you can just sit at home for 3 years before you go to the NFL.

Or you can Play 1 year, then play really good 1 year

Then play half #### one year and end up #1 pick.

Frankly the NBA should have a similar rule....

Dec 16, 2015, 9:18 AM [ in reply to The rule for draft eligibility is 3 years past high school ]

Of course, the NBA and the players union will tell you that a basketball player has a limited window of opportunity to make money as a basketball player and, therefore, anything that limits those opportunities (including a minimum age requirement) is unfair.

There is a reason the same handful of college teams are the only ones really competing for a national championship each year. If the NBA would adopt a rule similar to the NFL and MLB, more college teams would be able to develop their talent into potential Final Four teams that could then have a legitimate opportunity to compete for a national title just as easily basketball factories like Duke, Kentucky, UConn, Louisville, and UNC.
