How do you guys see the BB season going?

We should be able to beat ##### at home. FSU beat the Gators last night so possibly a win but I'm going with 11-2 pre-conference. A win over Florida could be huge. We have a fairly decent shot at a 3 - 0 start in ACC, but the next 5 names are about as tough as you will find anywhere. Things let up a little after that, but it is still challenging. If we can hold serve where we should I count 9 wins. If we can surprise a few of the conference foes maybe can get 10 or 11 wins? Is 20 wins enough to get us in the dance?

I think we can get in the tourney w our guards and ft shooting. We will need some close ones to fall our way but the above will help that

let too many agonizingly close ones slip away last year...

We should be able to make the tournament this year. I think the season hinges on whether Mitchell’s knee can hold up all year. We have no long term backup options at pg.
Also need to avoid that inevitable 10 game stretch we go through in conference play where we can’t hit the broadside of a barn and end up losing 7 out of 10 games

Yep The first 10 games have 3-7 written all over them if team not ready to go.

I predict 11-2 in the non conference, and 10-8 in the ACC, for an overall regular season record of 21-10. That will definitely be good enough to go dancing.

David Skara will return for the Florida game. His final game out (his ninth) will be this Saturday against Samford. Brownell has called him the team's best defender "by far".

to be really good off bench then? Or will he make the Tigers a 2 forward (him and Grantham), 2 guard (Shelton and ?) and one center (Isiah) team with the other guard being the 6th man?

League schedule is pretty brutal, especially early. We might be able to get into the tournament at 8-10 in the ACC.

We have a decent team, but we will struggle defensively against teams with big front lines like Duke. We'll need to play a lot of zone in ACC play, because we don't play man well like we used to

Better basketball players and not just great athletes

Historically, the Tigers have maybe 3 guys who are good players & 5 or 6 guys who are great athletes playing basketball. The mix this year is good in that we now have 8 or 9 really good basketball players. Nobody is ready to get distracted by the NBA, they all play well together & actually help one another in the games. Depth is great for not only games, but making practices more intense & competitive and everyone improves daily. Still not sold on Brownell's low key demeanor, but so far the guys are playing hard & aggressive. Looking forward to seeing Skara get into the rotation to add more size--wonder if he'll be inside or outside the most?
