How come Clemson or other teams rarely go to the Sugar

Nov 18, 2013, 2:57 PM

Bowl (or even Fiesta) at times? More elite teams that don't necessarily win their conference (likely) or when another team gets bumped to the NCG (likely), one would think that having other teams in different BCS matchups would be more exciting than the usual conference matchups.

The conference tie-ins typically prevent it.***

Tie-ins usually pertain to the conference game champion

don't see why they can't mix it up more if the winner goes to the NCG.

Lately SEC has had the Nat Champ game member and Sugar has other tie in

Same way if ACC was a power conference Clemson or FSU would go to NAt Champ and the lower ranked would go to tie in with Orange

The ACC has been so bad, rarely is there more than 1 (Orange Bowl tie in) BCS team in the ACC

It is changing with Miami coming back and FSU and Clemson playing well but it will all be gone after this year.

My problem is the rules are still the same for the playoff, no more than 2 teams per conference

What if Miami, FSU and Clemson area ll good why just take 2

Play it out if they are the best let them go. There have been times where the Big 12, SEC, Pac 12 have had 4 -5 teams in the top 12 BCS standings but miss out and they have to bring in a NIU, UCF, etc to play by playing nice with non BCS conferences

The 2 team per conf limit is gone in CFP***
