How bad did TOTE1 get ripped off this month?

Apr 12, 2017, 9:07 AM

Last month the pressure regulator cost him $270. This was installed by a "professional" plumber. Most felt TOTE1 was overcharged by a couple hundred bucks but the hammering in the pipes has been fixed.

This month, new tires on the SUV. He's purchased Goodyear 80k tires. The total price before discounts and rebates $887.00 mounted and balanced. They are offering free install this week, so $99-. They also offered an $80 mail in rebate but he doubled that putting purchase on Non Straight Cash Homie Goodyear cc with six mos no financing. $160- (in the form of a Visa gift card).

This is a grand total of $628. But can he pay that off before interest hits in October? Stay tuned.

upper lower did a lot better in the focus groups than lower middle. The first word sets the tone.

Tire size?

Apr 12, 2017, 9:19 AM

$650-700 sounds about right for larger SUV tires tho. It all depends on the size and how popular it is. I had an S10 that cost almost $200 per tire because of the rarity in size

You've never put tires on a Tahoe.

That's about what it was for my truck

Apr 12, 2017, 9:27 AM

Of course, I've got the same mileage on the Michelins that the Goodyears had when replaced, and the Michelins still have half tread or so.

When the tires on my truck give it up

Apr 12, 2017, 9:29 AM

Or I get tired of them riding like crap, I will be changing out for some Michelins. I thought about getting a more aggressive looking tire, but why bother? The farthest it will ever go off road is if some sand blows over the boat landing road.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I hope your Goodyears fare better than the Goodyear

Apr 12, 2017, 9:27 AM

whatever-they-are that came from the factory on my truck.

Last winter in Clemson, it was like rolling on 4 squares until they got up to temperature. Which was almost never, because I was 2.7 miles from everything I went to.

Wife's of 5 year old Michelins on her 4Runner with 50K miles on them however rode like floating on a cloud in that same 2.7 miles, and everywhere else.

for the cheap.

Then go to the local tire shop for ~$15/tire mount and balance.

Got replacement 80k mile rated 285/75/R20 set for $660. $50 mount and balance at Midas.

Shipped them here at work, and install on lunch break
