Hot car deaths of little kids

Why is this a thing? I mean really people. I know there is more news coverage now so you hear about the kid in Tucson and Topeka and years ago you wouldnt have. It seems there are more each summer. You would think with all the reminders you see on tv people would be more aware. But they dont seem to be.

Tuscon hit 112 and 114 a few weeks ago, and 114 again this weekend. average highs are usually around 102 in August.
