Hopefully the new arena helps Brownell's recruiting

Jan 26, 2014, 6:48 PM

Brownell is drawing up plays that are getting open looks, we just don't have any consistent shooters. Most of the time in the ACC we are playing against teams with a lot more talent than we have. Brownell has got to start recruiting better if we are ever going to go anywhere with him as HC.

Right now his only hope is to be like Grobe was at Wake a number of years ago in football, winning with lesser talent.

It's the same old story - lack of talent - year after year.***

Unfortunately, I agree. I don't know what it is we need to get better players in here, but other than straight up paying players, we need to do it.

Clemson. That will take a very public, vocal commitment to the program by the university. Shiny new facilities are an important and necessary part of it. We also must have a coach who recruits believe can win big.

we could probably resort to the same tactics that unc has used for years. Third grade readers, no show classes, Swahili majors, full time tutors to do the work, cars, jewelry .... shall I go on?

I hope my alma mater never stoops that low to win a ball game.

I hope not too, but we can certainly be a lot better than

this without stooping that low.

Unfortunately, we can't spend money on a couple of shooters. The only way to bring in good players is to spend money on things like a new arena. I think just getting some new facilities will help. Our current basketball facilities just aren't all that great.

We've needed a few scorers my entire life and they never

If true, then we should scrap the basketball program

altogether. I am 100% serious. Fortunately, it's not true.

Save the money

Jan 26, 2014, 7:27 PM

Take 10% of what the new/renovated arena would cost and use it to pay players. We'll save money and win a lot more games. Win/Win
