with WVU and their athletic dept. budget is in disrepair. This makes sense for them and the Big 12 would get the DC market.

Right you are. The DC market is practically worthless when it comes to college sports. Clearly a pro town.

5 to 10 million more in the Big 12 then they will jump. I was just saying they probably need the money more than anyone in the ACC. Also, if Fox or whoever is willing to pay for the DC market then let it happen. It's not my problem that networks are stupid and pay money for non-college sports markets.

No way is there only going to be 64 teams in a playoff, you can't keep out the acc, big east and others. No one will sign off on that. And screw the big 12, kansas, texas tech, iowa st, baylor, kansas st? Are you kidding me.

The ACC and Big East absolutely will be outside looking in. The ACC is 2-13 in BCS games. Next worst is Big East at 7-7. There is one proposal to have conference winners make the final 4 if they are ranked in the top 6 in the polls. Things are changing and the ACC will be left behind.

Remember when the NCAA basketall tourny was just 8 teams? IF the ACC were left out of the playoff system at first history tells us it will not last if for no other reason than pure greed.

Conferences affiliations and conference championships aside

At the end of the day (similar to last years championship game), E$ecPN and the rest of the media are going to make sure they get exacly who they want in the playoffs regardless.

Do you think VT and NC State can be pulled away from their respective in-state pressures? If they can, Mike Slive and the SEC would be very interested.

a very medicore program (NC State struggles to be competitive i nthe ACC), other than allowing the $EC to establish a presence in the state of NC, NC State brings very little to the table.
I am still not entirely certain the Commonwealth of Virginia would allow UVa or VT to do anything that could be potentially harmful to the other.

the media contract as opposed to those we recruit/compete against in the vicinity...SC and GA. They have a distinct advantage with the additional $'s. It's unfortunate for us that the conference never took off like we hoped when it expanded. There were some head scratching moves as well....BC???? and then there were some that just didn't work out well....Miami falls apart and FSU goes down at the end of Bobby's time.
