Just the top two getting a single bye and the other twelve playing a first round game. They could have three 1st round games on Tuesday and three on Wednesday, with the 3, 4 & 5 seeds playing on Tuesday and the 6, 7 & 8 playing on Wednesday. That way, you would have three games on Tuesday and three on Wednesday, then four on Thursday.

Conference tournaments never have a day of rest. Your Tuesday winners would be resting on Wednesday, thus eliminating some of the advantage of the top seeds for earning the bye.

in a football domed stadium (like GA Dome) with two courts, and have games going simultaneously.

That will happen one day as these conferences get bigger and bigger.
