Suuposedly SCar DL coach may be going to Penn St.

Feb 6, 2020, 5:17 PM

So Burch is waiting on confirmation.

I don't know if that will sway him one way or the other. No idea on the closeness of their relationship.

But I think SCar was trying to keep this quiet, so could be a trust issue.

uof6c fans, in their infinite wisdom, seem convinced the a job on the uof6c staff is much better than the same position at Penn State which, of course, is entirely false. As usual those clowns have a complete lack of self-awareness.

First all all, Penn State is a much better program compared to uof6c. Second, unless I'm mistaken, there is no real risk of James Franklin losing his job in the next year or two while Cusschamp would have been fired after the 2019 season if the university could afford the buyout.

In addition, John Scott previously worked with the Penn State coordinator, Brent Pry. Pry was his DL coach senior year at Western and then Scott was a GA for him at ULL.

I don't blame Burch to hold out a minute if this

Feb 6, 2020, 5:39 PM

was something that was undisclosed. That would cause me to pause and clear up any trust issues.

Honestly...

Feb 6, 2020, 5:46 PM

I don't give a royal rats rump about uof6c or this Burch kid.

However, I have enjoyed all the anguish, grief, misery, distress and torment the whole $#!7 show with this kid has caused them.

I think that the leadership, and rightly so, decised it

not be frugal to pay 20M to fire Muschamp, only to have to hire another Muschamp quality coach.

Burch, or any other recruit who makes his school decision

Feb 6, 2020, 6:14 PM

based on an assistant coach is not making an informed decision. Coaches move around a lot, either of their own volition, or being replaced. The reason Dabo is successful is that he is selling an authentic Culture and Program, not an individual coach.

For whatever their reasons are, Burch and his Mamma have dragged this thing out so long that there will be tremendous resentment no matter who they ultimately pick now. We don't have a dog in the fight, but I wish he would just be a man, make a decision, and live with the results. You can't please everybody.

100% agree. But if Muschamp tried to hide this...

Feb 6, 2020, 7:05 PM

Then I wouldn't blame them for being upset. It's then a trust issue.

But, yes, you gotta commit to the school first.

Burch looking for any excuse

Feb 6, 2020, 6:17 PM

Like Flowe from this past recruiting cycle. He had plenty of opportunities to fully commit. Once each excuse or delay is announced, you know their heart isn’t in it.

I tend to agree...

Feb 6, 2020, 7:08 PM

If he was fully committed to being a Gamecock, he would have signed by now.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!
