As much as we all love Venables he won't be here forever because some program is going to realize he is head coach quality just like what happened with Chad Morris. So when that sad day does come I was just wondering what potential targets yall think we should go after.
- Dave Aranda: LSU d-coordinator
- Frank Wilson: UTSA head coach
- Rod Carey: NIU head coach
- Neal Brown: Troy head coach

Chad Morris was clearly ambitious for a head coaching job. From what I've read about Coach Venables, I wouldn't be surprised if he remains a DC for just as long as Bud Foster has at VA Tech.

Micky Andrews was FSU defensive coordinator for 26 years, Bud Foster has been Va. Tech DC for 22 years.
So no, I'm not sure Venables will leave at all.

I don't think he's going anywhere. Some people don't want to be the big boss. Between OKLA and CLEM he's had more than enough "resume material" to get a head coaching gig

Honestly he would have to tone his sideline antics back a little to be a head coach. There’s no way a school wants their head coach having to be held back because he can’t control his emotions and is out on the field.
Making a guy change like that sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. I think BV is happy as the DC and may not want everything that comes with being a hc. He’s much too hands on to be able to give the defense to someone else to run
