Hi, my name is CT88 and I'm an alcoholic.

I started with the idea that a heart patient might benefit from a glass of red wine once a day. After a couple weeks of one glass, last night it turned into two glasses.
I got too drunk to watch TV so I played a video game where I got to fly into battle at Midway. I killed more asians than the virus.

You'll get no argument from me. I went 25 years without drinking while raising my family. Then I drank out of control for about 8-10 and just swore off again three or four years ago.
When the taste calms you down you have a problem. When an alcoholic gets that first mouthful of beer and the sugar forms on the tongue it reminds you of how good you're going to feel in a few minutes.
I've been this way for nearly 50 years. I want a drink right now and it's not even lunch yet.

Just playing man. If we are all being honest, the majority of us feel much the same way.
No one just wants to be as honest as you just were in that post. I save that for the therapist on Monday afternoons.

Honest is the only way to go through life. I try to lie to Him and He bust me right on the spot. He makes it very difficult to deceive myself too. I just have to tell you, I'm happy, I have joy. I whine and complain constantly but I love everyone here.
I talk a lot of chit but you guys make my day sometimes when I can't go outside and work. So screw you all now that Spring is here and I can work on my project car!

You might be the last person on this board I would have ever envisioned playing video games.
What kind of console?

Dood, I remember the Commodore 64.

I bought a Sharp EL5500 with basic language OS in the early 1980s. My first home computer was a dual floppy 8088 processor without a hard drive, 1985.
My kids had a home computer before their teachers got one.

my first was a Fairchild or something like that. My brother had the one that played stick-people tennis. When we had it, we thought we were the chit.

I got hooked on Mario Bro when my 40 yr/o son was 7. I wasn't much for most of the other Nintendo games but when the PS console came out and I got ahold of a disk with half a doz trial games including GT1 I found true love.
One of my GF had her grandson over for the weekend. She went out with friends and he and I played his GT4 game. He and his dad hadn't passed the driving test to really compete in anything but Sunday Cup races and I had him a Class A license in two hours. His daddy freaked, they'd been working on those licensing test for weeks.
Everytime PS breaks out a new console with a new GT game I buy one. I still have the original Nintendos, the PS1 with the flip lid, and every console between that and the newest PS4. I have backward compatible PS 3 with the 80G which I reflowed with a cheap Zeny soldering station too. It still works so I can play Agile Warrior from the PS1 series on a PS3.
I think we have Sega and a few other gaming consoles too but they're stored away now due to limited space on the TV table.

and I sucked (they were Xbox boys) - I got a Switch when it came out and loved the new Zelda - picked it up again over the weekend and played Mario Odyssey - on the last level now and taking a breather.

in reducing overall alcohol consumption. Two beers gets me as tipsy as 4 used to. One bourbon on ice and I'm lit. Soooo much cheaper to get a buzz.
