bank question.

went to the mt p business expo yesterday, almost every bank was there. And it seems banks are always at these types of events and sponsor every thing under the sun.

why do banks spend so much time and money in marketing? do customers really jump around that much?

i have been BofA since the nationsbank days and quite honestly don't feel like dealing with the hassle of changing everything associated with that account, so i keep it.

I don't know if it is so much people moving their accounts around as just trying to be fresh in folks minds when it comes to looking for loans and such. Also, sponsoring things may help in the Community Reinvestment Act. I'm not totally sure on that.
