We need to be focused. We all know that the better team does not always win a rivalry game. I hope the Clemson football players and coaches are laser focused this week. We need a good game plan, and cannot let the game remain close going into the 4th quarter. We need to take care of business and DOMINATE early.

LUCK happens.
I am hoping the better team wins Saturday. I recall a few years when the superior Clemson team lost to SCAR. Don't want to see that again --- ever --- especially this Saturday.
We have not beaten them 5 times in a row since 1940. We REALLY need to win this Saturday.

until they played perennial power UTC and vaulted into the top 100.
Their pass defense is ranked 56th nationally which is, again, an improvement after playing Chattanooga.
This game will get as ugly as Dabo and Clemson wants it to be.
u5c doesn't have the talent or the coaching to play with Clemson for four quarters.

They do have Edwards and Deebo, and our secondary has shown some weaknesses in the short passing game.
There are a few mismatches there, but I do anticipate we kick their butts.
I know we will win, but I have a feeling that it may not be as big of a beatdown as the last 2 years. I predict something like, 40-17. Hope I'm wrong though, I would love to see 100-0!

and at 6-4 u5c is a mediocre team with NO REAL CHANGE of winning Saturday night.
Just like last year, they haven't beaten a single team with an actual pulse and that trend continues on Saturday.

No team should be taken lightly. Citadel-Bama at the half is prime example. As superior as we are, it always takes focus. Happily Tnetters can relax and enjoy the week. CDS will have his team ready.

Why do people always say upsets happen so often in rivalry games? Are there any numbers that support that upsets happen anymore often in rivalry games compared to games between non-rivals?
The higher ranked team has won the majority of games in our rivalry, Ohio State has owned Michigan lately, and VT has beaten UVA like 15 years in a row or something. Another one I can think of off the top of my head is Oregon owning their rivalry with Oregon State in recent years. I can't think of very many upsets between Georgia and GT either as it seems the GT wins in recent years have been whenever Georgia hasn't been very good.
