To be fair, you prob need

Avg number of losses per team

Not total number of losses.

Why ? If you're a T25 team, that means you are winning

Nov 7, 2018, 8:41 AM

ballgames ... not losing ballgames.

well, that's what its supposed to mean.

Soo.. to complete the last step

Nov 7, 2018, 8:46 AM

SEC - 2 losses per team
B1G - 2.2
Big XII - 2
ACC - 1.5
Pac 12 - 2

I think you really need to compare to outside the conf

Nov 7, 2018, 8:47 AM

Conf teams play each other so will have losses. When comparing conferences I think it makes more sense to compare to power 5 wins outside the conference - and especially those with winning records. As much as it pains me to say this, I believe the top 1/2 of the SEC is the best among the power 5 this year.

Yup, the first team, second team, CW covering all 11 positions, and the 3rd team. If the 3rd team can shore up the defense and stop the big plays, they would move up in the rankings.

Thats one way to look at it

Nov 7, 2018, 9:09 AM

Here's another...
Top 25 teams sorted by conference ... total number of wins so far ...

SEC 49
Big10 34
ACC 29
Big12 26
Other 25
Pac12 15

Which, I might add, is also a fairly useless view unless you consider the number of teams and who they've played, but it makes just as much sense as simply tallying losses.

Pretty safe to say the ACC and Pac 12 suck this year with the eye test. Pretty safe to say we are a top 4 team anyway and the real deal.
