"@KevinTBaker: I'm not saying he deserves to win it, but it's ridiculous that Tajh Boyd is rarely even mentioned for the Heisman this year."
If he sticks around, he will be front and center next year.

True. Winning out means he did what he has done all year and lead team to best record in many years by putting up big numbers and driving the bus that ran over USuC!

Clemson needs to start promoting him preseason next year. If we win out, he's front runner preseason for all the Award watch list. Then athletic depart has to start their campaign for him. Tajh could definitely win Heisman next yr! ROLL TAJH!!

than when they tried to promote CJ that was a pathetic attempt. CJ is probably on of the biggest heisman snubs, he deserved to go to NYC over 3 of the 5 guys at least

Makes you wonder what the school and the ACC are doing to promote him.

It's not ESPN's job to promote him. It's the SCHOOL's job to promote him. Doesn't Clemson have a press department?

They gave him a decent amount of love last year

The way perception is, the ACC was decided on 9/22. If we had won that game in Tallahassee and are undefeated right now, then Tajh is getting mad love and would be right in the mix. The ACC is way down and it was a one game season, essentially. We've still got 3 undefeateds with 2 games to go. I haven't checked but I'm betting Mariota(sp?) and Kline's stats are better than Tajh's. I think he should at least be in the conversation, but it's understandable that he's not at the front of the talks.

Kline's stats are nowhere close.

He is getting the "Tebow vote" based on how much he has done for his team and "how he is just a football player". Oh and his team is undefeated which means the QB has to be a heisman candidate unless you are Notre Dame and your middle linebacker (the QB of your defense) is the only thing they can push.

Collin Klein has accounted for 31 TDs this year.

Just two fewer than Tajh, and he's committed far fewer turnovers. He's also THE focal point of the K-State offense. No disrespect to the Wildcat WRs, but he doesn't have a Sammy, much less a Nuk.

I wouldn't say that.
Nov 15, 2012, 12:24 PM
[ in reply to Kline's stats are nowhere close. ] |
|
Klein: 145-208(70%) - 2020yds - 12TD/3INT passing // 154 - 748 (4.9ypc) - 19 TD rushing
Boyd: 210-309(68%) - 2941yds - 28TD/9INT passing // 122-363(3.0ypc) - 5 TD rushing
It's pretty close. Boyd has more total yards, but Klein has nearly 400 more rushing, and rushing yards are typically a bit more valuable than passing yards. Total TDs are 33/31 in favor of Boyd, but he's also turned the ball over more.
