Help redefine Clemsoning

[61]
Posted: Sep 26, 2013 6:22 AM

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Clemsoning

If enough people go to urban dictionary and 'thumbs-down' the top 2 definitions (negative perception for our football program), and 'thumbs-up' the third definition (positive perception), then UD will display the positive definition at the top.

The team's consistent performance over time is the only way to really lose the stigma, but this is a practical way some of us armchair quarterbacks can help.

Also note

Posted: Sep 26, 2013 7:30 AM

You can vote these definitions up (currently the 3rd one) or down (currently the first 2) on different computers to increase the pace of replacing this definition.

I also voted down some dummy's 'clemsoned' definition, no doubt entered by the palmering master himself.

Go Tigers!

Slight correction

Posted: Sep 26, 2013 7:33 AM

Double voting needs to be from a different IP. So, using your home Internet, you can only vote once. But if you're going to a computer lab later...

You can absolutely vote more than once. Was on LTE the first time then switched to Wifi and was able to vote again. Going to help the cause by posting a link on twitter as well. Lets get it done. Excellent work.

Go Tigers!!

Over 200 votes!

Coots must have gotten wind....there have been some new Up-Votes added since this morning for the negative definitions. We should try to share with Tiger-friendly folks only to the best of our ability.

We're close to knocking off the second definition

Posted: Sep 26, 2013 12:56 PM

It looks like UD sorts the definitions by 'Net' Up-Votes (up votes minus down votes). The existing second (unfavorable) definition has 187 (down from 335 this morning) and the 3rd (favorable) definition has 170. Lets keep at it and eat this elephant one bite at a time.

Done. TU for the tip.***

Then you can vote a lot of times. I have access to 1000s of IPs; unfortunately I'm deployed and don't have time to waste. It'll cost you about $10/month for most services. Feel free to PM me for info if you care enough to try it.

P.S. I voted 3 times just to put my share in.

Update

Posted: Sep 26, 2013 6:24 PM

Nice job today. We knocked off the second definition! Since this morning, we've decreased the 'Net Up-Votes' for the 2 bad definitions by about 240 while increasing the good definition by about 100. Let's keep it going. The top spot is within our reach!

Tip for Mobile users

Posted: Sep 26, 2013 6:25 PM

When on LTE apparently your iPhone changes IP addresses periodically so you can re-vote from the same device multiple times. I was able to do this several times today on my iPhone and iPad.

Does anyone know how often this happens? I'll set a timer to remind me.

and the WVU vid is ancient history (at least when viewing on iPhone). I guess they only show vids for the top definition ! I loaded a link to the LSU game as well...lets see if that one shows up later. Seems to be a delay, perhaps someone is vetting for relevance before showing. Great work Tigers!

My opinion on the Clemson-ing issue:

This is a notion perpetuated primarily by alumni/fans from THE University of South Carolina in an effort to spread their misery and chicken curse from Columbia to the upstate.

I think after we follow through with this, we should start calling USC Exc-USC.

Then we can start using terminology like South Carolina-ing. They have given the world much more material IMO...
