"Dysfunctional" defense has Venables smiling

Clemson's defense turned in another dominant performance Saturday, and defensive coordinator Brent Venables said his dysfunctional group is having fun and playing well. Full Story »

Cole is the MVP? Seriously?

Oct 26, 2014, 10:22 AM

What sort of retardeness has possessed the coach to say such a stupid thing?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Whatever Venables says is more valuable than what any of us say.

Oct 26, 2014, 10:50 AM

Venables is the genius hero right now. We have nothing of substance to add. We should just smile and nod.

Stephone Anthony was the MVP, by about a mile.

Oct 26, 2014, 3:50 PM [ in reply to Re: Cole is the MVP? Seriously? ]

Cole turned the ball over three times BY HIMSELF. That is not a freakin' MVP.

This "We won so everything is great and all criticisms are invalid." mentality is pathetic.

My favorite MVP moment was when he had the ball stolen right out of his hands.

My favorite moment was when the ball was stripped, or slipped, or something weird happened to cause the ball to somehow leave Cole's hands and land perfectly in Seckinger's hands for the TD that sealed the win.

Kickers have gotten it for just one kick to seal a win. ? Lets not for the Lsu win in the dome on New Year eve. One kick, One Win.

Villanova scored more against this defense than we did.

Yes, its still there. He's do a breakout game if this offense can hit on all cylinders in just one game.

Or when he threw a perfect pass to the wide open defender.***

Or when he had our best receiver in man and threw it to the water boy.

Be thankful that you have a mind that God gave you to think with and not to put others down with dis-respectfulness. Could you do Cole's job??????????????????

Cole was hit before both interceptions.

Oct 26, 2014, 4:55 PM [ in reply to Cole is the MVP? Seriously? ]

Why is it that no one has mentioned that on the interceptions by Cole that his arm was hit so that he could not follow trough his throws each time? With a few mistakes, I think that he played a good game, first and second halves.

As long as our player continue to stick together, fight together, and win together through thick and thin, good and bad, and continue to support and battle together until the end of the game. That's is all that matter. It haven't be pretty at fsu but they are still ranked number 2 and fighting with what they got. We must do the same to get back to the top. Fight with what we got from game to game.

Cole must be very fragile right now from a confidence standpoint. All the coaches are having to talk him up.

Cole is his MVP because the D got a little bit of time to catch their breath. Playing at the intensity level that they have played last 3 or 4 games, a break is always welcome. If the Defense is disfunctional, what does that make our offense? Nice drive at end of game to eat up the clock. Could have used several of those during previous part of game and maybe even scored some more points.

I concur with DV reference his comment about Cole. "Go Cole and go tigers."

I think Venables mvp comment was His appreciation for how the O ended the game with good ball control and keeping his D off the field. I've defended Stoudt because of so many issues this team is dealing with. And his performance at BC was good. But Saturday's performance was disappointing. The O that played Syracuse would kill us if we were playing in the SEC or had to keep up with offenses in the B12. Not sure if it's Morris, Caldwell, injuries, youth, attitudes or just a bunch of unfortunate circumstances, but if its not figured out soon SC will be 6 in a row.
