Heaven Was Never Intended For Good People

Oct 9, 2018, 10:21 AM

I consider myself to be a man of faith. I believe whole hearted in Christ and Christ alone. With the recent passing of CJ Fuller, many comments on social media referred to his recent troubled history which may or may not have landed him prison time. As spectators, we have the authority and the right to judge the actions of another person. However, we do not have the authority to judge a person's heart because we do not hold the keys to such matters. We are not in a position to determine where their final resting place in the afterlife should be.

Heaven was never intended for good people. No, just the contrary. No man is good, not even one. Every single person alive today has committed a wrongful act to some degree. Heck, some even do the right thing in the wrong manner or for the wrong reasons. No one is perfect. In short, Heaven was intended for forgiven sinners. While this post isn't strictly about CJ, it is about the treatment of others in general. If someone is doing a wrongful act towards someone else then by all means seek justice for a victim. However, if someone is doing a wrongful act then they may just be acting out of their normal character and something deeper may be going on than what is happening on the surface. That person deserves your prayers of intercession and that person deserves your love. Except for the Gamecocks on the Football Field. They deserve a beat down in Tiger Town as often as we can give it. Off the field even Will Muschamp deserves our love and support as another human being. We should pray for him and often. We should spend more time praying for others rather than condemning them like an old abandoned house.

That's all I have this morning. I'm a busy man. GO TIGERS! Oh, and for the non-religious folks on here, I mean no offense or disrespect to you. I still love you all too and will continue to pray for your salvation.

GO TIGERS!

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

Thanks for the kind words, but I'm afraid that I merely repeat what the Gospels have taught me. No man is the truth, in fact men can't be any further from it. We have grace and grace allows us to live in spirit of truth. There was only 1 who lived as THE TRUTH. I just speak about him and hope that others listen. With my political comments, I do not speak truth either, it's more like common sense. Liberalism just doesn't work in any case. Nobody can show me where socialism works. If it worked, I'd be 100% behind it. It doesn't work, it takes wealth nations, divides the wealth, and creates a condition of diminished returns on that wealth. It never works.

Great post, but....

It makes one wonder how so many people so close to this kind of teaching, in other words regular church goers, can’t seem to grasp it and apply it to their lives.....

There is so much finger pointing and judgment inside churches today towards the world instead of the grace and mercy that Christ has shown us.

Particularly when it comes to the sins that have been politicized. Transgenders, homosexuality, abortion....so many Christians think they are fighting the good fight by being intolerant of these sins but it’s actually things like self righteousness, pride, gossip, etc. that Jesus and the apostle Paul spoke so strongly against that are prevalent in church and that keep people from coming to Christ.

We “pray” for people, but then we go right on judging and demonizing them and do nothing to lift their burden....

You're going to the wrong churches.

I never attended a church that condemned anyone. I'm Baptist, not by choice but by divine directions. Anything harsh said toward any group in my churches was always in self examination and about us, the very members of that individual membership.

Re: You're going to the wrong churches.

I’m not talking about from the pulpit, I’m talking about just casually listening to what you hear from regular church goers and seeing what they post on social media outside of church.

For example, Colin Kaepernick, who claims to be a Christian, is not viewed as a brother in Christ, he is viewed as an unpatriotic piece of trash. And our president, who claims to be a Christian, leads the charge by attacking him on twitter instead of doing what Jesus would do which is reach out and show him love.

Seeing “Christians” behave in this manner is more of a stumbling block to my faith and many others than any scientific or philosophical argument....

Then you're hanging in the children's section...

Oct 10, 2018, 9:09 AM

I've never heard a spiritual adult Christians say those things. Over the years I have come to understand that most of the truths revealed to me were for my edification for I am instructed to clear my own eye before I can see clearly enough to clear the eye of others.

If you don't see conservative christians in this country right now lashing out and putting up barriers between themselves and those that disagree with them on political and social issues you are either blind or just don't want to see it. I say that with love.

Franklin Graham recently posted on facebook bashing the NFL protesters. Why a pastor would choose to publicly engage in these arguments when he has supposedly devoted his life to advancing the kingdom of God is beyond me. He also recently downplayed sexual assault in favor of Kavanaugh and is an ardent Trump supporter. Nothing wrong with supporting the office of president, but when you see people ignoring the things the president has said and done but then call others out it just proves that American Christianity has lost it's way. We resemble first century Judaism with it's hypocrisy and self righteousness more than anything and that needs to change.

You said, 'In the churches...'

Oct 10, 2018, 10:58 AM

As far as me ignoring it, I don't facebook, twitter or any other of that other type trash. I don't swim in the septic tank for the same reason either.

They way you presented it your church was pounding out some ungodly, unscriptural type message. That's not fair nor is it accurate. I reckon God hasn't moved my soul to join the church of twitter or take part in the gospel according to facebook. If he decides to throw me in the septic tank for a swim I'll suck it up and do a belly flop.

Have you considered that perhaps God is moving you to abandon your twitter account and facebook and spend more time in communion with Him?

How are so many on the P&R board this hypocritical?

Oct 10, 2018, 10:30 AM [ in reply to Then you're hanging in the children's section... ]

Plenty of 'Christian' folks blinded by hatred when it comes to politics or discussing lefties.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's plenty of harshness to go around.

Oct 10, 2018, 11:04 AM

I'm share something with you in considering hypocrites. Folks who claim to be Christian aren't the problem. Folks who are Christians yet have no reservations to openly treat others without respect, including myself, are failing our missions.

Prod has taken breaks from P&R due to having his opinions turned into arguments, he said so. I took a long spell off P&R because my behavior here was at times unbecoming and uncomely.

There's no justification for such evil behavior.
