Some love for Boyd

Jun 23, 2019, 10:57 AM

Just watched a career highlight film for Tajh on YouTube...man did I love watching him play. Watching his deep throws are something of beauty. Link is below if anyone else needs to kill a few minutes.

I've never been more impressed than when I saw the play at 2:14. I wish I could find relays from various angles.

He was tough as nails and a battering ram

when he ran the ball.

Great memories

Tajh was a winner. That 2014 Orange Bowl was one of my favorite games of all time. He carried us to victory. I ran into him in Dallas at the ND Cotton Bowl beat down. He's a great ambassador for the program and I feel like a 12-year old fanboy every time I see him. If you want to know why Clemson is Clemson today, look to Tajh Boyd.

Boyd was the man.

You might say he helped start the ride we are on in a big way.

His performance against lsu, will be one I'll always remember. Nine of LSUs defenders wound up in the NFL, and I think four of them were first rounders.

I am not sure if I have ever seen a QB play with more heart

than TB did against LSU. He took a beating and kept coming back for more. Very impressive.

AMAZING!!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That was quite enjoyable

Jun 23, 2019, 12:41 PM

to watch. I have always been a big fan of TB10. Also, with all the ridiculous talent on the recent teams I forgot how good Hopkins, Watkins and Bryant were.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His coming out timed up with arrival of The Chad....

Jun 23, 2019, 12:43 PM

Was profound for this program and its turnaround.

Lynch pins.

Amazing how time passes to new things. I'll never forget the Boyd era

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

As said, not a prettier long ball thrown than TB's..

Jun 23, 2019, 3:07 PM

and would give a $Million to change the fact that he somehow never beat the Coots..but boyd did he try, maybe too hard.

Oh, being in attendance at that Orange Bowl win over Buckies was a treat in that both teams were very good & talented while SammyW was the main difference..however TB's long run thru their line, LB'ers & DB's for a TD was pure joy to watch!

He had the benefit of some great receivers as well

Jun 23, 2019, 3:20 PM

But that fade he threw to Nuk in the Auburn CFA game was a thing of beauty. Nuk made the play on the catch, but that was probably the best placement of that kind of throw I've seen

What a great player and a great guy. That is a clear pattern here.

I think the Boyd era was actually the beginning of the larger Clemson Golden Era.

Tajh was a great college QB. Perfect for Clemson at the time too. I didn't think he had a pro career in front of him . at that time. With the way things have changed the last few years, I wonder if Tajh would fair differently today??

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Boyd was special

Jun 24, 2019, 6:56 AM

and without him we'd never be where we are today.

I remember many years ago in the heyday of the Aikman-Smith-Irvin Cowboys, the TV commentators talked about a draw play that they'd run over and over again. Everyone on the field knew it was coming; they were just powerless to stop it because the team was that good. The Cowboys would just line up and dare you to try to stop it. That's how Boyd was, especially on those third downs. Everyone in the stadium and on TV knew he was going to run it; it was simply impossible to stop him. He was that impressive.

I wish Boyd had had better luck at the next level but he will always be an elite QB in Clemson's history. One of my all-time favorites on and off the field.
