Where does 2013 FSU rank as far as best teams to play in DV?

The 2013 FSU Team isn't going to get any votes for greatest of all time, but i dont think it gets the credit it deserves.
Average Margin of Victory - 42 points per game.
The 2013 team still holds the FBS Record for Points Scored in a Season - 723 points.
They trailed for a grand total of 37 minutes all season. In their Sept 2nd Opener against Boston College, a Jameis Winston TD early in the 2nd QTR broke a 7-7 tie. They would never trail again in a game until January - in the BCS National Championship vs Auburn.
I remember getting to my seat early enough to watch most of the Pregame Warm-ups and being very concerned that we were in trouble. FSU is always big and fast, but that team (and especially that Defense) was on another level.
Who else comes to mind?

How so? We had the lead late and they were national champions that year. What's your point?

I think they were the best for sure. It's hard to compare teams from 30 years ago with the advances in nutrition alone. The game has evolved so much, those old grind it out teams would have a really hard time defending a modern offense.
Even Bama's "fastest and best defense of all time" couldn't stop us.

We've faced four teams in DV that went on to win Nat. Champ

As far as I can tell these four teams are the only Clemson opponents to have played in DV the year they went on to become National Champions:
1953 Maryland 1977 Notre Dame 1999 FSU 2013 FSU

I remember waking out in the 2nd quarter of that game. Eventually walked back in the 4th quarter cause I was too drunk to care anymore. Knew we was in trouble when we fumbled and they scored with a jump ball to Kelvin Benjamin. Just started shaking my head.

you would expect. I think our 2015 and 2016 teams were actually rated similarly. The biggest difference is that the ACC still stunk in 2013 thus all the big blowouts.
They played a great game against us though certainly.

The atmosphere that night was insanity. You couldn't move on the Hill. You couldn't make your way back up top within the same quarter if you had to use the restroom.

comes to mind for me is 1981 Georgia. We forced a lot of turnovers, but they had Herschel and a tough D that proved to be a pretty good team that year. Doesn't hurt that that was my first game in the Valley too.

As good as that 2013 Noles team was, they played a pretty weak schedule. If I am not mistaken, we were the only ranked team on their regular schedule That Auburn team was one of the luckiest teams of all time. They played Duke in the ACCCG. They were def. one of the most talented teams ever, but I am just not sure of how proven they were.
