Greetings from Aotearoa New Zealand

Dec 2, 2017, 7:06 PM

where the first weekend of Summer is here and it's a very warm 85 and a bright sunny Sunday afternoon. ESPN2 will be showing the game today and I spent yesterday afternoon smoking a pork shoulder and getting the beer and the bourbon cooled down and ready.

Tailgating from home in the Summer. Feels kinda weird, but I'll take it however I can get it.

Good luck to us today and the rest of the way!

I'm not familiar with Aotearoa, but it's probably N.Island?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it's the Maori name for New Zealand.

Dec 2, 2017, 7:27 PM

But it actually used to just be their name for North Island. Means land of the long white cloud I believe.

I'm on your side of the planet as well in Singapore. Same place I found myself during the NCG last year. Game time here is 9am Sunday morning

Lucky you. You're in one of the best places on earth. Enjoy the game!

Do a haka for the Tigers. Is it true Christchurch is the most English city outside of England?

Dec 2, 2017, 7:30 PM

And what time/day is it there?

Maybe pre-earthquakes, but it's hard to say that now.

Dunedin though, a bit further south, is supposed to be the "Edinburgh of the Pacific" but Scots may not agree.
