Jordan Spieth

Jul 20, 2015, 2:01 PM

I have to feel bad for him to end up one stroke out of a playoff. Hated to see him bogey number 17.

It would have been nice to see him win The Open in a playoff and then go for the Grand Slam in at the PGA.

Yeah I can't believe he missed that putt on 17. I was really pulling for him. He double bogeyed a hole on the back nine, missing a 3 foot putt. That came back to bite him also.

He also double bogeyed No. 8 which is a par 3.***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

The 4 putt is what got him. Just a bad shot on an easy hole

but you can't 4 putt. Tough to overcome, although he nearly did.

I really thought he had a good chance at the grand slam. But he has other years I think. He's that good.

That's a good point - can't believe he can play........

Jul 20, 2015, 2:17 PM

the way he does at his age - has plenty of time in front of him.

Too many good golfers out there. We will never see a Grand Slam. Four AMATEURS in the top 20 this week. One in the final pairing. I know he choked it up today, but what an effort.

The modern Grand Slam in golf is all but unattainable ...

Jul 20, 2015, 3:31 PM

Personally, I don't see it ever happening.

The fact that he isn't a long ball hitter helps him

Jul 20, 2015, 3:33 PM [ in reply to That's a good point - can't believe he can play........ ]

as far as longevity. He shouldn't have injury issues down the road like Tiger does.

Had a couple of close shots on 18. Just missed on that approach and then almost holed in his birdie attmpt.

Would have been nice to see that ....

but hard to feel sorry for a guy that is half my age and makes quintuple what I make and gets to play golf for a living.

;)

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton
