Having grown up just 15 miles from Sandy Hook, CT...

I am still numb. So many connections to that small town.
I don't post often, but came back here just to try to come to terms with what is happening. I am sure that there are many more of you like me. I have a 5-year-old in Kindergarten.
I'll represent my family tonight at a vigil. That's all I can think of doing right now. As for the other charged topics like gun control, Asperger's, mental health, and the state of America in general regarding safety - well, I need to save most of that for another day.
It will take a while to sort out this senseless crime in my home state. My first step is to bring my kindergartner to school tomorrow. Then I will meditate heavily on this. Becasue this is not the world I want to raise my daughter in.

well said. as a parent and grand parent it hurts me too. my daughter is a school counselor. she would be directly impacted by an event like this at her school(god forbid).a few weeks ago I sent her and posted here a how to survive an event like this from link sent to me by a college I adjunct teach at. so sad we live in a world where we must prepare for and train for things like this
