Have we ever flipped an in-state guy that was a SCar lean

going into his senior year of high school? This is basically the situation we have with X. Thomas. I just can't think of any examples where we've turned a guy "Orange". Other similar situations were Z. Bailey, Clowney, and Lattimore. Both in-state schools wanted all these guys badly, but when a guy leans to SCar, it's darn near impossible to flip them to Clemson unless them or their momma just hate the coach. For the most part it has worked the other way around as well. Dabo said it well in his presser. The schools are so different that a recruit is going to be drawn to one or the other. Generally not both.
We still have to put in the effort with Thomas just in case, but the odds are severely not in our favor.

Not any that I can think of. X. Thomas will be hard to get because I read he grew up a Gamecock fan. He is legit.

Well ma ma mama said "you can't fix stupid"
If they're a fan growing up, hard to turn them. Plus their best would compete to start for us at this point. Our reach is larger than theirs in recruiting. Consider it a good thing.

We didn't really pursue him either until it was WAY too late.
We thought we had some targets higher on the board we were going to get; we didn't.
Ended up biting us, bad. IMHO it was dumb - you never, ever pass on a bird in the hand like Mike Davis unless you're stone certain you've got someone better, and we did not. Was one of the really big whiffs of Dabo's tenure, actually...fortunately there have not been many of those.

80's when we'd sign 15 to 20 instate players ever year. That being said it's way too early to worry about X. Thomas he will not commit until January of 2018. USC will not have as easy a schedule next year as this year so look for them to finish with only 4 to 6 wins next year, and the fans will start to get antsy after a forth straight loss to clemson.

Lots of the guys that go to SCAR don't receive offers from Clemson; that's just the truth. That's probably because SCAR will take guys that they know won't qualify or that have character issues; we stay away from those. We have a higher bar - I know they don't want to believe that but the facts are the facts. Lots of their kids are trouble.

Probably not many. But, I'm betting there are quite a few who wish they had been flipped. Probably maybe more than one or two on that team right now. They could have been playing for championships instead of being part of a #### show.

Don't think that Mike Williams ever took them seriously but I remember Kornhoot being there for his announcement thinking he was going to be a shamecock.

Was Roscoe Crosby a USUC lean? I thought he considered them heavily, but my memory is not that great.
