Have any pundits admitted that they were wrong re: OB Picks?

Jan 2, 2016, 1:14 PM

It seemed like 80-90% were picking us to lose, but the narrative has shifted to Oklahoma just not being very good, not that Clemson was just that much better.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

cowterd tweeted during the game

Jan 2, 2016, 1:16 PM

That he wanted to change his pick from OU to Clemson

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No they started mocking Ben Boulware, Daboand players

Jan 2, 2016, 1:40 PM

for saying they always picked Clemson to lose. Which they do ALWAYS pick us to lose in big games. So they didn't admit anything, just became more arrogant

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would they admit it?

Jan 2, 2016, 1:16 PM

Like you said, just change the narrative.

Same ole song and dance!

Jan 2, 2016, 1:16 PM

maybe we should threaten to boycott Dr Pepper and cancel our All State policies.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I can help, if you want to do better than Allstate.***

I already did, haven't used Allstate since 2002 and

Jan 2, 2016, 1:29 PM [ in reply to Re: Have any pundits admitted that they were wrong re: OB Picks? ]

I don't drink Dr Pepper. It must have been a prophetic inclination to no longer use either of those products. :)

Jan 2, 2016, 1:16 PM

Why would they admit they were wrong. It doesn't matter if they screw up, they still get paid and will still pick games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I haven't seen the narrative that UO wasn't any good but

Jan 2, 2016, 1:16 PM

they have all moved on to there is no way we can beat Alabama. They have essentially doubled down.

house money

Jan 2, 2016, 2:30 PM

At this point, wouldn't it at the very least be called 'octupling' down?
I'm not even sure that's a word, but that double down bet went bust a looooooooong time ago.
Somebody kick them out of the casino.

Been that way all year a team gets hyped then we beat them

Jan 2, 2016, 1:18 PM

then they weren't that good.

Such revisionist history. MOST pundits were saying OU was the OSU of this year who was hot at the right time and dangerous and could win it all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right, OU was the "complete team"***

Well they pick probably a hundred games a year

Jan 2, 2016, 1:23 PM

and miss about a quarter to a third. I'm not sure why they should apologize when they are wrong. Some need to eat crow for their comments but some said it was going to be close and picked wrong.

There's a difference between "being wrong" and being total

Jan 2, 2016, 1:43 PM

jacka$$ ... the TV weatherman is wrong a lot, but he is almost never a jacka$$ when he makes his expert predictions.

Kirk Herbstreit and David Pollack are wrong quite often, but not jacka$$es ... Mark Maye, Lou Holtz, and several others are.

All these guys on Fox fit the bill.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The only one who should really eat crow is that guy on Fox

Jan 2, 2016, 1:25 PM

Sports who played QB at So Cal (I can't think of his name but it's very Greek) who said OU would win by 3 TDs and send Clemson home "embarrassed" or something to that effect. He had the point differential right...

No this guy--played in the 90s: Petros Papadakis

Jan 2, 2016, 1:29 PM

He was actually a RB, not a QB.

Dude has a pretty punchable face doesn't he?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Petros Papadakis = giant cod piece

Jan 2, 2016, 1:32 PM

talks bad about ACC -- played at usc --- they think they own the world

If being a college football analyst doesn't work out for him he could easily transition into a used car salesman with a face and hairdo like that.

Re: The only one who should really eat crow is that guy on Fox

Jan 2, 2016, 1:31 PM [ in reply to The only one who should really eat crow is that guy on Fox ]

Yep, he arrogantly made that prediction and seemed to laugh under his breath at the thought of Clemson even staying close to OU

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

not sure what they were thinking

Jan 2, 2016, 1:26 PM

We hadn't lost all year; we were the #1 team with victories over several top 10 teams; and we beat the #### out of Oklahoma last year. I didn't understand everyone picking them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Except for Brady Quinn, they all sang the same song again

Jan 2, 2016, 1:39 PM

this week. And even Quinn made a snarky comment about Shaq Lawson's intelligence.

Papadakis was just as obnoxious as last week. But then again, I think he just may have been born obnoxious. If not, he was a quick learner.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'd say 60 or 65%***

Pollack did. Made fun of himself for picking against Clemson

Jan 2, 2016, 2:44 PM

On Twitter. Called himself a moron basically for thinking Cains loss would lead to the Tigers losing.

So, props to him.
