Have any of you recently bought a urinal trough?

Jul 26, 2018, 8:32 AM

Some of my best moments in life included a trip to a urinal trough. Unfortunately I only seem to find designer urinal troughs when I search. Anyone have a clue on an affordable urinal trough alternative? TIA in advance.

I assume this is for the man cave as a way to feel like you are in an upper deck men's room?

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Some of my favorite moments were also spent at a urinal trough.***

I won’t ask you to share them on this bored. Although I’m sure

The smell of fresh urine is part of these memories.

A trough is just something else to clean

if you really wanna go old school, did a trench, concrete it (you can layer it with copper if you like) ...

I got the idea from Duke football.

There is one in the garden of the Ernest Hemingway house in Key West, operating as a fountain, that supposedly came from the bathroom in Sloppy Joes's. Hemingway said he had put enough into it over the years to have paid for it.
I have found a couple of enameled cast iron ones discarded in the woods over the years and have plans to install one of them on the outside rear wall of the outhouse at my cabin. That outhouse is complete with a pink flush toilet, also salvaged, and has been christened "The Pink Floyd" and has a framed picture of Floyd the barber from Mayberry printed on pink paper.

Although, my favorite urinals are the ones slotted into the floor with water running down a tiled wall into it and you just pee on the wall.

Your favorite was standard in France and Belgium, etc...***

I’m humbled by your in depth knowledge of urinals.

Where will you buy those hockey puck like "freshners" that sit in the bottom? How much will that run you per year?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hadn’t thought that far ahead regrettably. You need one

Jul 26, 2018, 9:17 AM

Strong enough to smell but then not quite cover up the smell so that you get that fresh scented urine.

Exactly. There is a perfect balance when it comes to quality and that could be costly. Something to think about. On a serious note, I went and looked at a place on the market and the owner had put one of those stand up cool urinals in his bathroom. I thought it was cool, but I thought since I have a bad back I would never want to clean something so low to the ground by hand. Something else to think about. Now you need to hire a maid.

You can make your own with a little stainless steel

And if I have a rain storage device this could be that

Environmentally sound focal piece I was looking for. You just blew my mind

No matter how tempted you might be, DO NOT drop a deuce in it.

Waste of money. I hardly use the ones upstairs.

Jul 26, 2018, 10:08 AM

And even most of the ones downstairs.

Mainly just the one in the garage.

Save your money.

AS a child, the west end zone trough were a halftime nightmare for me. Thanks for the memory, I’ll seek my therapist this afternoon.
