Hatfield tried that...and it was part of his downfall

Why don't we recruit Texas? Why don't we recruit California? Both of those states put out tons of prospects...The reason is that players from those states are not likely to come to Clemson

You only have so much time to spend on recruiting. Why waste your time with a kid that has no ties to South Carolina or the South east region in general.

With the Texas schools (UT, A&M,Baylor, Texas Tech, and now TCU) and the Oklahoma schools (OK, and OK state), and LSU all within driving distance to the more talent rich parts of the state of Texas...What would provoke a kid's interest to Clemson?...This isn't a knock, I mean how many kids from South Carolina would have any interest in playing at Texas A&M?

Its too far from their friends and family, and they can play for good programs much closer to home. Clemson needs to focus their attention on recruiting NC, SC, GA, and FL, and not waste their time recruiting long shots in Texas

we are recruiting well but I would hope we could also

start making more inroads into NC and Va areas that are talent rich. hope the guys we have playing from Va and the season we have going will start getting us on the radar screen there

The local newspaper in VA, constantly has updates

on Tajh and how he is doing. Should be a plus...if the Coaching staff wishes to capitalize on it...This area usually has around half of the top 10 recruits in the state of VA.

Ford owned NC in the 80s and we did very well in Ga/FL***

Only things to come out of Texas

are steers and queers. We haven't found any players with horns yet. The other kind prefer to hear Sandstorm at Rainbow-Brice.
