They give free samples and have cool items in the gift shop also, imo it's worth a stop

That's in my hometown of Camden isn't it ? I saw it in the State newspaper but I haven't been back home since. I would go just to see what it was all about.....I was shocked at the Dusty Bend area but I don't know where Palmetto Moonshine is located.

There is one in Anderson.

I am not a fan of legal moonshine. It is not the same, IMO.

I've only had flavored corn, no true "brandy", BTW.

I take it there are several ...but which one has goats ? That would be neat to see.

The on on hwy 76 between Anderson and Clemson

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep. Pint runs about $30 and three or four flavors...

to choose from plus white lightning. Pretty neat place and you can feed the goats.

Go Tigers!

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?

What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?

Never been, but tried the Apple Pie flavored kind.

Good stuff. I mixed it with water so I'd have a bigger drink to sip on, and it tasted like Apple Cider with a kick.

About 8 dollars cheaper at your local liqour store

Big markup inside of the Palmetto store

For something more than "novel" experience stop at 6 and 20

Jun 20, 2014, 8:51 AM

It is a distillery owned by a Clemson Grad off of 85 at the Easley exit. Palmetto moonshine is low proof with little flavored syrups they put in it.

Thought it was off exit 21 in Anderson is it not?

Off the 153 exit in Powdersville is Six and Twenty Distillery which was featured in the Greenville News last week as a craft Bourbon Distillery. To my knowledge, the only local bourbon distillery. Have heard great reviews about them.

As for Palmetto Moonshine or Dark Corners Distillery in downtown Greenville, commercially produced shine is just not the same. More syrupy and just does not feel like homemade ole fashioned stuff.

Yep, it's just west of Anderson on the way to Clemson. Interesting looking facility with rope-bridge type stuff traversing little buildings with rustic facades. Looks like something you'd find at an amusement park; probably worth a stop.
