Has any team ever had an easier path to the Championship

Apr 1, 2018, 7:54 AM

than Michigan in terms of seeds that they played? They've played a 14, 6, 7, 9, and 11 seed. Meanwhile Villanova played a 16, 9, 5, 3, and 1 seed to get there. So while Michigan didnt play a team seeded higher than 6, Nova played 3 teams seeded higher.

So what? I’m in no way a Michigan fan, but they beat the 5 teams in their path so far. Only 1 other team can say that and that’s why they are playing Monday night. Nothing is an easy out when playing in this tourney. They are as hot as anybody since Valvano’s team. Hope Nova beats them but if they win, they will be champions. There won’t be any asterisks by their name.

Regardless of Michigan playing good basketball right now

their path has been incredibly easy. Nova has beaten better teams, plain and simple. West Virginia, Nova's sweet 16 opponent, is better than anyone Michigan has beaten in this entire tournament.

So, this ^^^ subject line has me puzzled... last night’s 22 point first half doesn’t quite fill the bill imo.

After watching Villanova slice up KU from beyond the arc, the ONLY hope for Michigan would be that the Wildcats are flat tomorrow.

btw: have to concede to the OP that Michigan had a fairly easy path to the Championship.

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.
