Has any Clemson kicker ever had a better season than Catman

had this year? Not sure of his stats,but i think he only missed one FG all year?...and to end the season with a game winner against LSU sure makes it even more special.

I think you are right. I saw all games this year and the one he missed from 48 yds against Duke or Wake( can't remember for sure ) is the only miss I recall. I know for me, he's the best even though he got screwed over because he plays for Clemson or in the ACC...do not understand at all why he did not get more love. He made a ton of kicks from 40 to 50 yds. Is not like he made all 25 yd FGs. If I recall the miss correctly, he actually made it on the first try but the sideline had called a timeout & he missed the next attempt ever so slightly to the left.....

If memory serves me correctly Treadwell earned consensus All American in 1987. I want to say he only missed 1 FG kick all year as well.
Actually Catman had better Stats than Treadwell his senior year when he earned Consensus All-American in 1987.
Treadwell
1987 Clemson K 28-29(xtra points) 96.6% 18-21(fg) 85.7%
Catman 18-19 FGs 57-58 xtra points

... the botched "do-over" he suffered at Auburn ... from outhouse to penthouse! What a great story!
David Tredwell had the best overall Clemson career in my humble opinion, but Catman next year, has the opportunity to place himself at the top with another solid season like the one he just had.

I agree. Catman has come so far that I expect him to make from 50 yards or less and am shocked if he misses. He's practically automatic.

No doubt. Carman is a beast, but the best leg I've seen in Clemson in terms of BOOM was Mark Buckholtz...that dude had a boot...

Obed Ariri was 1st Team All-American in 1980 but I do not know how his stats compare.

... Clemson has actually had some pretty good FG kickers:
Obed Ariri
Donald Igwebuike
David Treadwell
Nelson Welch
Chris Gardocki
That is just off the top of my head, there have been others that made a lot of FGs.
But Catman has definitely improved greatly. Two years ago he was around 50/50, one year ago around 75/25, this past year almost automatic (one FG and a couple of XPs missed). Here's hoping he doesn't miss a thing next year.
