Had a Coot tell me that Bill Cowher had contacted

Sep 24, 2019, 4:23 PM

Scar had expressed interest in coaching there.

I asked him why he would coach at USuc but not NC State(his alma mater). He said Cowher lives in South Carolina. Is this true?

Why not sign up for it? It’s a cake job. Sign a 4 year deal for big money and just get paid. The product on the field will never change but you could definitely inflate your bank account.

Only a drunken or desperate person would seek that job.

First of all, you shouldn't believe a coot on matters
like that one. He is just another butt hurt fan. Secondly,
why would a coach inquire about a job that isn't open and
has a 20 million dollar buyout?

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought Cowher was absolutely ancient, but

Sep 24, 2019, 4:54 PM

Wickerpedia says he is actually 62, in his late prime as far as USuK coaches go. He would certainly add another to the coaching graveyard after he left there, though.

First of all...

Sep 24, 2019, 5:11 PM

Bill Cowher does not live in South Carolina. He lives in New York.

Second, Cowher is a career NFL guy. He has never spent one day of his life coaching or recruiting at the college level.

He's making $4 million per year working as a studio analyst for ESPN. Why would he give that up to coach at uof5c? Simple...he wouldn't.

Re: Had a Coot tell me that Bill Cowher had contacted

Cowher could have, indeed, contacted South Carolina, but the contact was probably to tell them no one was interested in taking the head coaching job at the graveyard of coaches.

My suggestion would be for the Gamecocks to join the Southern Conference for two years, and then drop down to the conference with PC and Newberry for two years and then give up their football program altogether. In the meantime, some of the "experts" on FGF could serve as the coaches at no pay and no buy-out clause. At the current rate all of their fans are losing what remains of their sanity. They could sell the stadium to the city and/or county as a garbage dump because that's what it's used for now on fall Saturdays.

2. Cower has not coached in 13 years. He’s not coming back. Why do people bring up his name?

the time of year when hope starts to fade for the rabid fanbases of $$hitty teams who wish for Bill Cowher to come and save them. Here's my list of the BC imaginary sweepstakes:

Michigan
SC
Tennessee
Southern Cal

Anyone else to add to the list?
