Two yrs before I arrived at Clemson. Very cool. And still valid - it will just be a one way conversation.

I have obe but he left before I got to use it! I will give Pell credit for establishing a base for building a big time p rt ogram. And no I dont mean the violations stuff. He drew a 150 mile circle around Clemson to establish a recruiting base that was roughly a 3 hr drive to campus. Also for our coaches to get to know all the high school coaches in that area, he would call them out by name or school on his TV show when one of their former players made a play for us.

When we went to the '77 Gator Bowl, I stayed with my dad's 1st cousin who was well connected in FL politics. He told us Doug Dickie would be gone after the next season but it didnt matter who the replaxement was the booster ran that program! Didn't have any idea it would be Pell, but he was right!

He still maintains that he isn’t leaving Clemson.***
