As near as I can tell...this is a really bad look. Maybe I'm missing something, but it reads as "we count on blue-collar Democrat voters not being able to make it to polls to win elections for us." Obviously, blue-collar doesn't necessarily = Democrat voter, particularly in 2016, but the math probably still works for Republicans to keep low-income people away from polls as much as possible.

Tell me what I'm missing. Probably something obvious.

we used to get off from school for "Return Day". Maybe it was just in our county, but we had a parade and an ox was roasted on a spit for ox sandwiches.

Good times

People still work on holidays and probably most of them are lower wage earners.
