Guys, I went back and watched Hot Rod from last season

and I have to say, I think he might have been the better back between him and Ellington.
I will say this. Georgia thinks they will have the best Backs on that game... Im not so sure. I like our guys.

Hot rod is great but needs to block better

He flat out missed guys coming after tajh. The lsu 4th down is the only one he made contact on, and it wasn't pretty. Next years mission is to protect tajh. If he has time....

I'd like to see some of his clips. Are there specific games I should watch?

He only had three carries though. Not much of a sample size.

That's why I said before they went away from the run

One of those carries was a TD if I'm not mistaken. I can't explain why the coaches ditched the run and turned into an air raid offense punctuated by repeated sacks from the Clown. Hopefully there was a lesson learned.

I've always thought he was a bit underrated

Our offensive line did a great job of creating holes for Ellington and Hot Rod. Both of them did a great job of following their blockers as well. McDowell doesn't have the power to really push some guys back to pick up some tough yardage as I've seen him get stuffed before, but the same goes with Ellington.
I don't think there will be a drop off from losing Ellington. I will say that I was shocked by a few of the plays Ellington was able to stay on his toes, particularly the Auburn game.

georgia may have the better backs, but in one game who knows we don't play a three game series. hot rod needs to perform well that game along with our D stopping theirs.

His statement wasn't that outlandish. It is very possible

that our backs have a bigger game. We don't know how this group of Tigers RBs will perform, and it's quite possible they have a huge day.

I concur about HOT ROD..and think we lost SC game 50% due to

not running him more in 3rd & 4th quarters rather than try to get the game back to square 1 so quick with passes..one picked off when we were only down by 3..and then Nuk dropped a pass over the middle around that time too that would have had us in SC's territory for maybe 3 or 7 points.
Hot Rod will be a very competitive & hard-running back.
gOTiGERs!

He'll put up better numbers and AE but not because he's...

any better. He will have a mature, deep line to run behind. Tajh will be a third year starter and his decision making will happen much quicker.
The WRs all know their jobs. The only thing I can think of we might miss is perhaps the downfield blocking for first Down Brown is gone.
