Last year GT finished 5-6 with a game wiped out due to hurricane. They could not make up the game.

They petitioned the NCAA for a waiver to go bowling, but it was denied. Apparently if not enough teams are bowl eligible they can do that. But NCAA said there were plenty of bowl eligible teams, so they were denied.

Maybe SC has a patsy lined up instead of Marshall. Or maybe they have lobbied 2/3 of the people who approve waivers.
