Ground Transport in Phoenix

Dec 19, 2016, 11:05 AM

Tigers who went to Phoenix last year:

I'm looking for advice on transport to and from the stadium for the Fiesta Bowl from an airport hotel (about 14 miles from stadium).

Did any of you stay near airport and go to game from an airport hotel? If so, did you take a taxi? Rent a car? Uber?

Advice?

TIA. Go Tigers!

The stadium is a ways from downtown, personally i would rent a car. The best restaurants and other things to do are not downtown. You could uber, but you will rack up fares really quick. If you aren't going to tailgate at your parking spot, they had 20$ parking 5 blocks from the stadium. Our rental was 27$ a day and seamless at the airport. I think an uber trip from downtown to stadium was 35$ but was surging for the game so exponentially higher.

It's about a 25 mile drive from the airport to the stadium out in Glendale

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

With the package I bought it include a charter bus that would take you around to different events and areas around town . It even picked us up on the tarmac so we didn't have to go inside the airport.

I stayed by the airport because the hotels were much cheaper

It takes about 30-45 minutes to get to Glendale so it is not that close

If you have time and haven't been to the desert which I had not been you may want to visit the botanical gardens which is not far from the airport if you rent a car https://www.dbg.org/

but they charge to get in

didn't compare the cost of Uber vs car because you really need a car to get around but uber may work for you
