Greatest Fear is a Repeat of the Florida state game

Late game. TV Cameras outside showing Police escort of Football team on Bus driving up to the Stadium. Screaming fans. Cameras flashing. Treated like Rock stars. Quite the spectacle of a winning team. Whats this? The team looks sedated on the bus. A precursor to how they play. OMG Boyd and company flat as a pancake. Lose to a cocky moron QB and his gang of thugs. Now we have a O they isn't playing well against lesser opponents. We need them really fired up at game time. I hope Dabo has come up with a solution to the night game let down that in part led to our down fall against FSU

It happened twice - once for the Uga game and once of the FSU game. Both equally as hyped with the pregame prelude to a kiss. Except for the FSU game, it was the prelude to a fatal kiss. That was brutal and I have the same fear for this game. Hope our guys don't let their heads go to mush this time.

The Alabama game in Atlanta in the Kickoff Classic also had a similar buildup and outcome. Tommy Bowden as head coach though.

If you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! This is an opportunity to crush a top 10 team and show the world and recruits that Clemson isn't coming anymore, Clemson is here. We need to have the attitude and mindset of a Tiger instead of a Jessie Palmer. I intend to be in the Valley supporting Clemson and doing my part. Quit worrying about a loss we had against another team, X years ago and lets focus on making sure the Irish never want to play us in the Valley ever again.

Big difference between having #4 and #10

As soon as anything went wrong against a really good team, #10 would get rattled and stay rattled. The Chad would panic too and get outside of his game plan.
#4 seems to just keep getting better as the game progresses, even with a rocky start. Thus far, Elliott and Scott seem to stay calm, or at least they did against Louisville when they stayed with the running game. I don't think there's any doubt Chad would've ditched the run when we got down in the 2nd half.
We have a special team that plays with toughness and seemingly a chip on their shoulder. We'll see what happens Saturday, but I'm betting on a win at home.

ND isn't in the same league as that FSU team. They had beaten Maryland

like 65-0 or something not long before our game against them and had basically destroyed everyone they played. Winston was playing about 30 min a game and then he would get pulled and the backups would come in.
Clemson fans were shrugging all of that off just assuming FSU was only bearing up on cupcakes and that it would different when they came to DV. It wasn't. That was probably the best team Clemson had faced since at least 1999. This ND team isn't that good.

Maybe Fearful is not the right word. Concerned fits better

Yea I was talking about the FSU/Winston game. Believe it was played at night. Maybe a couple of years ago. Still I think it would be hard to keep players fired up and focused all day

It works against us to act as if all the chips are stacked and all is lost if we lose. Not the case at all. Just a chance to go beat a highly ranked opponent. Win or lose we have a good shot at ACC Championship, beating FSU, reclaiming our ownership of the cockroach, 10 wins, etc. Win or lose we have many more tests ahead of us.
One game at a time.
