Most interesting part of that was, obviously, that

Mar 4, 2014, 2:23 PM

Dabo seems pretty sure about RB, QB, and WR

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His not wrong mainly due to numbers

Mar 4, 2014, 3:07 PM

We have a lot of young and talented guys at those positions that could all play and start. It's an abundance of riches for the coaches to choose from. The OL is definitely the most concerning with Davis and Anthony going down. Both were likely to start unless something changed.

You mean Beasley not Davis

Mar 4, 2014, 3:08 PM

You leave my boy Kalon out of this.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah that was my mistake. Davis is going to start at LG

Mar 4, 2014, 3:16 PM

There isn't a lot of separation between he and Beasley so I'm perfectly fine with Davis at LG starting for us. It's the RG and RT position I'm not sure about now. though Reid Webster and Crowder will man the RG position imo. RT is a crap shoot with McClain moving to OG

Mac Laine is going to be at left guard

Mar 4, 2014, 3:17 PM

per the spring football news conference and Dabo.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I heard he was moving to LG but will he start?

Mar 4, 2014, 3:20 PM

I hadn't heard that but if so then that helps a lot as Davis could move to RG, where he has played before and only the RT position is in question.

I'm surprised they want Wiggins playing SAM

Mar 4, 2014, 3:58 PM

I can see nickel, but it seems he'd need to gain at least 20 pounds to be the ideal weight for the SAM LB position.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To be fair the SAM doesn't stay on the field that long now

Mar 4, 2014, 4:02 PM

most teams force you to play nickel and Wiggins was very impressive at the NB position last year. He'll just be doing it more full time now. Though I'm surprised O'Dainel isn't being considered for the SAM position. He's built for it.

Great update

thanks T-Net Staff... and wow, Steward is first team going into the Spring. Would love to see him have a breakout season.

He showed flashes last year against BC

Mar 4, 2014, 4:26 PM

he caused the fumble return for a TD because of his closing speed on the QB. It certainly surprised me and I think he's about as fast as Shuey was and we saw how great he was.

Re: He showed flashes last year against BC

Mar 4, 2014, 7:45 PM

Yeah, I'm excited to see him finally get his shot as well. However, I think he's probably faster than Shuey. I know he was pre injuries, but I'm pretty certain he still is. Shueys speed was one of the knocks on him coming outta high school, and a factor in him not being highly recruited. Having said that, I think Shuey, without a doubt, proved that speed sometimes can be over rated. Sometimes heart, determination, and effort makes up for what you lack in other areas.
