Gotta give Colin Cowherd just a little credit here.

He tweeted this yesterday during the SCar/UGA game:
"In an era of football where a QB gets 80 snaps---you still think drafting JClowney number one makes sense. Non factor. Again."
He's one of ESPN's biggest SEC fanboys, but he makes an undeniably compelling point here. The NFL is seeing more teams run the hurry-up option offense thanks to guys like Kaepernick, Cam Newton, RGIII, and Russell Wilson. So, how can you really justify drafting a defensive player #1 overall if it's become clear that he's going to take plays off?

To me it doesn't make sense to draft a defensive end #1

overall. They are a much better value later in the draft.
Since 1990 there have only been 5 defensive lineman taken first overall. They only have 3 Pro Bowls between the 5 of them. Granted Mario Williams is still playing but I would say he has not lived up to the hype.
