Oct 14, 2019, 5:04 PM

(lutz, i know...i said thingy) over the weekend. So a bought a roast, put some EVOO in the pot, salted and peppered the shyt out of the roast, browned (#obed) it on all sides. Then I took it out of the pot, threw in some beef broth, onions, carrots, red potatoes and rosemary, covered it up and put it on the oven. It's gon be good mane.

Was it Le Crueset? Cause those are nice.

Enjoy your roast. For us here at the spots house, it’s a busy Monday evening. So we will play the dinner game later.

Honestly, I saw an ad on FB about Lidl selling them for $20

Oct 14, 2019, 5:09 PM

I did a little research and people were going bonkers over how good these dutch oven things are. They normally retail for over $40!

Prolly a Kraut Le Creuset knock off. Prolly worth $20.***

We got one of them things

Wife burns the #### out of #### near everything she cooks in it. That one pot is hers to clean. I'll ckean the rest of the dishes and do 3 loads of laundry before I'll clean that thing.

She doesn't use it anymore.

I've cooked using it maybe 4 times and cleanup was a snap.

Baking soda helps with the cleanup

but once it gets really bad, I just get a new one.

usually the $50 model maybe one day I'll get a good one.

LOL...unless it's charred to the carbon dating level

Oct 14, 2019, 6:46 PM

Dropping a bit of water in there and replacing the lid will clean most. Steam works wonders.

I don't know why, but our Le Crueset cleans easier than

our Lodge or the old cheapo Martha Stewart. Of course, the plain cast iron one cleans pretty easy too.

Try Barkeeper’s Friend.

Oct 14, 2019, 8:19 PM [ in reply to Baking soda helps with the cleanup ]

Does amazingly. Found it straight from the YouTube. Worked like a charm. Even got off the #### that had been there for years. Don’t use it every time. Just when it needs a good deep cleaning.

Stuff is pretty magical

Oct 15, 2019, 9:15 AM

I use it on the boat because its gets rid of rust. Also the liquid stuff works good getting soap scum off a glass shower door. Will also polish the #### out of a stainless sink.

Oh yeah..wear gloves..it will take some off skin.

You went with a roast instead of braised short ribs

Oct 14, 2019, 9:54 PM
