That was the plan until he played himself into the top half of the 1st round.

They’ll be a time and place for such discussions. In the midst of a championship run isn’t one of them.

Good think he's not a coach and his speculation has zero

impact on the team.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think most of those leaving early for the draft

Dec 14, 2017, 8:22 PM

Haven’t decided yet and a couple that everyone assumes are gone may come back like Hyatt. I also think the only transfers will be those with degrees.

I can’t see why a Tiger fan would make a post such as this.

Because hes just making a discussion on a topic that will have to be discussed either now or 4 weeks from now....Its really that big deal....This post wont weigh any outcome of either playoff game...Relax

Some of you people take this TNETing way too seriously.
It doesn't mean a dang thing, nothing lol

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Your saying Tnet means nothing?

Dec 15, 2017, 1:15 PM

Mind bottling for sure!

He posted this because he's trying to figure out if there will be an available scholarship for Salyer or not. ;)

Yeah I say enjoy now. Don't rush tomorrow. As to the point. I hope everyone is focused on this season. There are a lot of guys with a lot to think about...juat not right now.

Why are you talking about

Dec 15, 2017, 9:01 AM

potential transfers.. those guys give way more to the program than you realize, and it's quite ignorant to just treat them as numbers. It's guys like that that keep the team together and provide much needed leadership.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Because it's a reality and it happens every year. No need to

I think you're preparing yourself for the worst which is probably the better way to handle these circumstances

Re: Potential transfers/leaving early for draft

Dec 15, 2017, 9:53 AM

If they were smart they will stick it out and "TRUST THE PROCESS" lol but seriously though...think about all of our Transfers from recent years...Things dont turn out so well...exception may be for Chad Kelly because a legend took his spot. But lets take a look at a few:

Tyshone Dye- East Carolina...transfer wasn't worth it
Scott Pagano- Oregon...wasn't worth it
Adrian Baker-Should have stayed
Korrin Wiggins- Actually had a decent year.. 90 tackles 1 int
Kyrin Prester-Dont even think hes playing ball any more
Demarre Kit- Havent heard from him since he left
Jeff Gibson-
Jake Fruh- No idea what was going on with him
Lasamuel Davis-Now at SC St

Only person who maybe has benefited from transferring is Wiggins. Crazy thing about half of the players who transfer from this list, if they would have stayed at Clemson they would probably walk away with a College Degree from Clemson.

Re: Potential transfers/leaving early for draft

Dec 15, 2017, 11:00 AM

I wouldn't even bring Chad Kelly into the conversation. He was kicked off of the team. The others we are discussing made a decision to leave on their own.

I personally don't see Ray Ray leaving. I think Artavis Scott's journey will hit close to home, and Scott was undrafted and has not made an active roster all season.

If I'm Deon Cain, I leave. This was not his best year, but I don't think next year will be much different for him. He'll get drafted mid-rounds based on his talent and measurables, not based on his on-field statistics.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Potential transfers/leaving early for draft

Dec 15, 2017, 10:23 AM

Wilkins and Ferrell have mid-first round draft grades. There's no reason for them to come back unless they just want to keep playing college football, which could be a possibility, but not likely.

Bryant has some draftniks projecting him as high as late in the first round. His stock could improve based on how he plays in the playoffs, but if he also gets a 1st round grade he could be gone as well.

With Ray Ray and Cain I think it will come down to how much they want to be here vs be in the league making money. Cain would be drafted no later than round 3-4 I think given his size/speed combo. Ray Ray is more of later round fringe pick in my opinion. Both could probably improve their stock with another year, but that doesn't mean they'll stay.

I haven't seen a grade on Hyatt, but he's started for 3 years and I don't see what he would prove by coming back for another year. Again this will come down to personal decision of wanting to play one more year in college or making money in the league, but I can't see his draft stock changing much if he stays.

I think Kendall Joseph will also have a draft grade, but I think he'd be well served to return to improve his position with another year as a starter.

It should also be noted that Renfrow had a 6th round grade last year. Again I don't think he will improve it that much by staying but suspect he'll stick around one more year.

Why should #13 stay another year? I assume he is graduating this year.

Re: Potential transfers/leaving early for draft

Dec 15, 2017, 10:32 AM

Bad timing. IMO, too early for this speculation. Up next... Alabama... Go Tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Is Hyatt graduating?

Dec 15, 2017, 11:00 AM

I've seen a lot of ~3rd round projections for him so I'm not sure he's 100% lock to leave early.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Is Hyatt graduating?

Dec 15, 2017, 2:59 PM

I've seen round 2-3, but I'm not sure what he could do next year to change that grade. He's been steady at his level since day 1. It probably will just come down to whether or not he feels he's ready to move on.

Transfer:
Adam Choice
Denzel Johnson
Chad Smith

Draft:
Kendall Joseph
Van Smith

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Potential transfers/leaving early for draft

Dec 16, 2017, 7:35 AM

Denzel Johnson and Chad Smith? Nope, they won't transfer. Choice might. Cooper might. Israel might, he graduates and may go somewhere where he can actually play, but he is tied to Clemson In a lot of ways. He loves Clemson. Not sure if Joseph will leave for the draft.
