Couple of points in this paragraph:

"But Clemson is a land-grant university of the 23rd-largest state, for years the poor sister to the University of South Carolina. It has 18,000 undergraduates, 20,000 fewer than Alabama. Before its current run, its football legacy comprised one national title (1981), several good years in the 1950s — and a lot of unjustified pride that helped fill the university’s 86,000-seat Memorial Stadium, known as “Death Valley.”

1) I do not accept that we have ever been the poor sister to the University of Second Choice.

2) Why does the author characterize our pride in Clemson as unjustified. He called our fans goofy. He doesn't get it. There is something special in those hills.

Also, no mention of the support Clemson receives from IPTAY. I don't know how it compares to booster clubs at Alabama, Ohio State, USC, or Notre Dame, but it sure does a great job of helping with resources for Clemson athletics. We have some of the best football facilities in the country, and really nice facilities for other sports, including basketball, baseball, soccer, and about to be in softball and tennis.

Enough inaccuracies in that one paragraph to lose me interest!

Though not sure I’d call them inaccuracies as much as opinionated or even biased?

Think it’s crazy that Dean ‘The Hat’ Cox is in the picture of the recruiting board!
