Clemson is 8-1 against the SEC over the last three years playing Auburn (ranked), Texas A&M (ranked), uOFsc (ha, not ranked), and Alabama (overrated). Alabama is 3-2 against the ACC in that same time frame. So beat the SEC West winner every year for the past 3 years. Oh, and also beat 9 win SEC teams too.
Better yet, the SEC foes that Clemson faced are a combined 89-25 (includes the coots 12 loses) against teams not named Clemson.
Bama's ACC foes are only 9-16 (not named Clemson). If it wasn't for a 2-10 Louisville, Bama might not even have a winning record against the ACC in the past 3 years. Yikes.

It’s like a mental illness. They absolutely must believe

that the SEC is special.
Or just really strong confirmation bias. We had two very tough games against Syracuse. It’s not that we lost our starting QB in both games. It’s not that Cuse was darned good, finishing 15th in the country last year. And the unbelievable beat down we put on Bama, who in turn rail roaded the entire SEC, is not an indication of how we would do. No, two tough games against Cuse means we can’t handle the SEC.
Honestly I’d be embarrassed at this point if I were an SEC fan. This is beyond pathetic.

Seriously, we played the top two teams in the West.

Beat them both, including the winner of the West like they rented mules and the runner up in their house. Who in the West after that could beat us? Was LSU going to score on our defense? Could they have kept us out of the end zone? No evidence says yes to that. Then who? Miss State? Ole Miss? Auburn? Arkansas? Laughable.
How about the East? We played a .500 conference team to a 21 point beating that they are BRAGGING about. Their second biggest lose of the season and it gave them hope.
It’s just mindless to think Clemson couldn’t handle that schedule.
A more interesting question is “Could Bama survive if they scheduled anyone OOC that had a pulse?” We had A&M in their house at night, a team that finished #16 in the country and 2nd in the West. And of course a team that finished .500 in the SEC...which it sounds like they think means is pretty darned good. What did Bama schedule? A Louisville team that finished the season winless in the ACC.
