Poor defense cost us again. Dylan Thompson couldn't start

at any school in the ACC, except Maryland, and we make him look like an All-American. Until defense gets fixed, we will never be worth a flip. Defense wins and trumps gimmick offenses every time.

but thats what we do, we make crappy QB look like 1st pick

The defense can certainly improve but it is not the main problem. Need some help in the secondary. The offense must improve its domination on the line of scrimmage. Must become much more physical on both sides of the ball. We just don't have the (what we used to call) the killer instinct (for example, did you notice Swearinger?). I'm just being honest.

We MUST be able to line up and run the football to control the game. Got to get significantly more talented on the d-line and o-line to win on the national stage. Laugh if you wish, but until we take care of this problem, we'll remain one of the best teams in the ACC but can go not advance to levels that we desire. All the complettions, broken records, contractural incentive awards for being in the top five in the country doesn't win football games. It certainly helps, but those that can't run the football and can't control the line of scrimmage will fall in that group between 15 to 30 in the rankings. It seems to me that everyone in the country knows this---but us.

No joke here but we need some THUGS. Every team worth a

#### has some. Not illiterate, scumbags but guys that want to rip people's heads off when they step onto the field.

Swearinger had a chip on his shoulder from Dabo shunning him in recruiting and he took it out on the field. What made it worse was him taunting Dabo the last minute of the game.

Swearinger didn't do crap in that game. Don't need players

like him. Yes, hard hitters with attitude. Thugs, no. There is a difference.

The defense didn't play great...

but they didn't cost us that game. Twice in the last 2 minutes of the second half, they got the ball back for the offense and the offense failed to score.

Yes, they dropped several interceptions, but with the score 20-17, they got one in the end zone, but the offense failed to make something of it.

Our high powered offence is why we lost that game. In particular our O-line. You can say what you want about the defense, and rightfully so, because we lack talent. But until we get a line that can consistently block we're going to lose these types of games, regardless of who the opponent is.

As far as Thompson goes, if Tajh went down, wouldn't we expect our backup QB to step in and win a game? If you're backup QB isn't just as capable, then you wasted a scholarship.

Good observation**********
