everybody is sick.

Son of got the flu Thursday. I got the flu early Friday morning. Wife of started getting sick last night. Daughter of got sick last night. Didn't move from my chair from Friday to yesterday except long enough to go vote.

Finally got the septic tank issue fixed. spent way too much money for way too much field line. Literally can't put anymore field line in my yard. Feelsgoodman

Other than that. It sucked.

Mar 2, 2020, 7:28 AM

Friday was very Friday-like. We did Friday things. Mellow Mushroom and the the movies for Call of the Wild. Apparently this was NOT based on the Outkast song, very disappointing but good movie nonetheless.

Then on Saturday we went to the gym/run. It was in the 30's but I hit 10 miles and wasn't too cold. Didn't cover ears so they were cold until they went numb. I need to up my mileage. Breakfast at Nishie G's then Publix for the week. Home for a little while and took the kids and puppy to Mom & Dad's to let them play there (next door). By this time it has reached the high 40's and my parents' friends pulled up and my kids are playing wrasslin in the front yard with no shirts and no shoes on. At least my daughter kept her shirt on. Rednecks. Anyways, home after a while to grill some salmon and invited Mom over to get a break from being Dad's primary caretaker. She is stressing about Dad and her health so she had a couple drinks and could relax for once. She went home and the kids watched Frozen II. I had a couple pours of bourbon and tried to stay up and watch the Revenant but couldn't stay away. Finished the WT101 though.

Sunday church, Salsarita's, then to Mom & Dad's to watch him while Mom went to a friend's Mom's 90th B'Day party. Watched 2 episodes of Ozark while I sat with him and now I am hooked. Turkey burgers for dinner. Kids to bed eventually then hit up the Netflix & Chill with the wife, minus the Chill part.

Watched way too much TV and watched too much of a sick parent. 5/10, will keep doing it as necessary.

Possibly in Clemson this Saturday if anyone has a line on real cheap baseball tickets. Stubhub has BC tickets for $6 each which don't get much cheaper.

Mom has an appointment on Thursday with oncologist so she is super nervous. Sick and aging parents sucks.

Took my two year old son surfing some big waves in Hawaii on Friday. Son caught every wave I put him on. Clearly he is a badasz just like DireTiger.

On Saturday DireSon and I played Augusta. DireTiger shot 69; DireSon shot 71 (he really needs to work on his shortgame).

Sunday we flew home. Tandem Skydived and parachuted safely into the churchyard just in time for 10:30 service.

Last night, while I was changing his diaper, DireSon looked at me and said "Dad, think we can do something more meaningful next weekend, like cure cancer?"

Quick guys trip out to Keystone to ski for 3 days. 2 adults, 3 kids: ages 6,5 and 5.

Friday - skiing all day, kids had two separate private lessons, giving me and my bud 4 hours alone to ski.

Saturday - skiing all day, again, they had lessons, so we cut it up for a long while on our own.

Sunday - skiing in the morning and then headed back to the airport.

Lots of pizza, chicken fingers, hot dogs, pretzels, milk, juice, beer and liquor.

Friday: took kids over to some frans' house who just got a Golden Doodle, cute pupper. We were just going to stop by at 3 or so to see the dog, ended up staying until 9, whoops. I'm pretty great, but I probably wore out my welcome several hours earlier.

Saturday: wife was sick of seeing/hearing me and insisted that I get out of the house, so went to meet English friend in town from ATL, doing a bike race in Francis Marion with 7 or 8 other guys. Staying at one of the guy's rental properties in IOP. I had seen this place almost a year ago when he bought it, but he's had some upgrades done since, and it's a gorgeous property. It's half a block off the beach, and about 80 yards from Windjammer. Cooked steak and oysters over wood, hit Jammer a few times to bookend the ATL United game that they all cared about.

Yesterday: worthless. The Outsider on HBO is really good. You should watch it if you aren't.

Friday: Cussed out a moron because, well, moron. It's always more fun when you are that quiet and calm guy that nothing seems to effect. The look in his eyes was priceless. Yeah, I had an evil grin on my face when I walked away. Felt good man.

Saturday: Apology text from moron. I didn't reply. Keep'em guessing.

Sunday: Great sports weekend for the Tigers. Maria made shrimp and grits for dinner. I'm biased, but Charleston got nothing on my girl.

Mar 2, 2020, 8:28 AM

Friday: Son's school had a Glow Run to help raise money. Ran in it and won tickets to see the Hornets.
He's been wanting to see an NBA game. Listened to the Clemson/uscjr. baseball game on the way home. Packed before bed.

Saturday: Myfavjr. and I left for Clemson/Seneca to stay with a friend and head to the basketball game. Great game as Tigers won!!! Had a great time with son and friend. Met BloodbeOrange® and BbOjr. at the game. Went to friend's house for drinks and grilled Salmon, asparagus and wild rice. awesome time!!

Sunday: Left early for the 3 1/2 hour trip. Helped jr. study for a science test. Took him to his moms for a couple of days. Grilled steak, corn, and potatoes. Watched a little tv and went to sleep.

Great sports weekend for our Tigers and time with son!!!

when you watch the Hornets play, you'll wonder to yourself how they are able to keep a team in Charlotte. They're terrible. Jordan may have been one of the greatest players of all time, but he's definitely one of the worst owners of all time. I'm pretty sure they draft by putting names on a dart board and tossing one blindfolded.

starting to build a shed out back, so spent most of the weekend getting the foundation set.

Fri - steak night w/ BIL and BIL's dog (luck us - dogsitting all weekend) - 6.5/10

Sat - woke up and ran errands to get a few items needed for the build. I picked up a framing hammer and a handful of 2x4s. Figured a couple saw horses would be useful with all the wood coming in, and be a good way to dial in the nailer. enjoyed the evening with burgers (minter cheese, bacon, bbq sauce styel off the smoker). 7/10

For those interested, got the cheap Porter Cable from THD. Seems to work fine and has a 90 day money back garuntee. So i figured I could use it for this job and keep it for random odds and ends, or go UDP AF and take it back when I'm done.

Sun - up early to Lowes to get the concrete blocks and stones. Got all the piers set and leveled out. I've been dreading this part of the whole job and it lived up to the hype. Annoying ### #### leveling out those #### blocks and hauling them all over the GD yard.

Delayed wood delivery to EOW since we got a full forecast of rain. It'll be good to see how the drainage works w/ the new piers. Dawghater2she got some brunswick stew going early in the mawn, so we ate that for supper. it was decent - still got some work to do and next time will smoke the butt. 7/10

tl;dr - cooked food, watched BIL dog, built shed foundation - 6.75 / 10

I struggle to find things to complain about relative to the

Mar 2, 2020, 8:55 AM

overall success of my weekend. We'll get the obvious out of the way...huge basketball win, softball sweep of first ACC opponent, series win over coots in baseball, Clemson players making a big splash at the combine. These things give me erectile FUNCTION.

Friday, Ladies Night at the fish camp. Took Mrs., RH Mom, and Fiance of Joonyer (he was flying back from Puerto Rico Saturday morning) out to eat. Had a great time and the food at Pier 51 was much better than I remember. Salt and pepper catfish fillets for the win, pretty good hushpups. They could stand to crisp up their onion rings, but very pleased with the meal overall. Took Mom home, then back home to curl up in the Bog Chair and watch the Yes 35th anniversary concert on Pluto TV and swill some beverage.

Saturday, dog-sitting for Joonyer since he was flying into Atlanta and his fiance drove down to pick him up and then go see the Dirty Guv'nahs Saturday night, so walk dogs, do chores, walk dogs, do chores, walk dogs, do chores was pretty much the entire day. Took both over to RH Mom's in the afternoon and did a few chores for her and let the pups run each other ragged. Then, back home to grab quick sandwich, bass, and beers, and off to LOUD rock and roll jam session. We did a small side thing from the regular band with our part-time guitarist and worked up some stuff that we've never touched on before. Set list was all over the map, from George Jones to Otis Redding, to Pink Floyd, to Neil Diamond and all points in between. We even futzed around trying to play My Sharona off the cuff. Huge fun tackling new material and somewhat outside the purview of our normal blues-rock thing.

Sunday, walk dogs, chores, walk dogs, chores, grocery run, walk dogs, check on RH Mom, back home for meatloaf and Walking Dead. Took about eleventeen seconds for Dispatches from Elsewhere to bore me, so Youtubed music until bed time. Did nearly have a turf war when I took the pup out before bed as she squared up on a possum, but I calmed everyone down and avoided an explosion of teeth and claws and fur.

Overall, the weekend won the majority of delegates, and will continue on in the race.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Meh

Mar 2, 2020, 9:29 AM

Friday night - stayed up til about 2:30 rebuilding my home PC (mobo, CPU, RAM). Mobo was DOA. The case it really small, so it took quite a long time getting it all hooked up, only to find out Mobo was dead.

Sat - took computer back apart, boxed up mobo to ship back to 'zon, ordered new mobo. Then, cut grass, ran weedeater, sprayed roundup, etc. Later went out, phone got drunk.

Sunday - went to mom's to help her get her finances in order. She turned 80 this year, and her mental capacity is declining. Her bills, etc were a mess. Been over there 3 times the past week just for this reason. I realize I will have to help her with this from here on out. And that's OK. Need to spend more time with her anyway.

8/10 (phone 10/10)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I feel you on the mom thing.

Mar 2, 2020, 9:49 AM

RH Mom is 85, and while I wouldn't exactly say her mental capacity is the problem, but more the fact that she doesn't have great use of her hands because of arthritis, and she has dry macular degeneration and doesn't see very well. Other than that, her doctor says she's in amazingly good health. She has some senior moments like anyone that age does, but ask her any question about Clemson sports from any era and she's liable to outperform Tim Bourret.

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, Dad always kept up with their bills, taxes, etc

Mar 2, 2020, 10:20 AM [ in reply to Meh ]

and while Mom has all the mental capacity, she is dealing with Dad, cancer, and her Mom's estate (but that is mostly taken care of) so she asked me to do their taxes this weekend. I'll try and help, but I am just going to use Turbo Tax. Dad tried to do theirs last year and that was the first MAJOR sign that his brain is just slipping. Started on April 14th because that was always his MO. Finished some time in October, I think when he just had someone else do them.

Mar 2, 2020, 9:38 AM

met wife-of (with no kids) out for dinner. Went to Red Lobster (yeah, seriously) due to gift card from Christmas. Wasn't great, wasn't horrible.

Saturday, took son-of to early breakfast at Cracker Barrel. The kids basketball games rest of day. Coaching daughter-of's team and we rolled. Son-of's team got beat, but he played pretty well. Post-game dinner at Fudruckers.

Sunday, wife-of and daughter-of head to Charleston to take daughter-of to an ENT specialist. Daughter lost all hearing in 1 ear around December. Doctors are a bit stumped as to why. It appears to be a mechanical problem and not a nerve problem, but she is also having pain, which they can't explain. Took son-of to Greenville. Lunch at Willy Taco...first time for me and wasn't bad. Then took him to a new indoor skate park that said it was open now...but really isn't. Son-of was not so happy with the mis-information. Took him to mall to turn the day around. Dinner at Waffle House (like men do) then Publix, then catch up on work.

All-in-all...meh, except for team's BB win.
