Good morning everybody. How was your weekend?

Jan 13, 2020, 7:56 AM

Friday, kicked off 2020 concert season with the crew. RH and the Mrs, Shorty, Fireball and his sweet lady, Zettner, one of my co-workers, and sharkgirl met up to take over the Radio Room for Ward Davis. Show was fantastic. Ward played all of his chart toppers as well as busting out Swinging, Are you Sure Hank Done it this Way, Mama's Don't Let your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys, and FREEBIRD.

Saturday, pulled off some wall paper backing, drank some beers at Shoeless. It seems something eventful happened, like the very first time for something....

Sunday, next to nothing.

Meh

Jan 13, 2020, 8:00 AM

Fri - chili dog and budweiser at pool hall. Hung out downtown with some friends, was overserved.

Sat - licking wounds in the a.m. Took little one downtown to watch the game and the streak is OVER! Over to friends house to watch football as friend's wife is from Baltimore and big Ravens fan. Oops.

Sun - nothing of consequence. Watched football and cleaned up around the house a little.

7.5/10 with -1 for meh, and +1 for no more streak. No redhead things b/c of Friday.

When it was cold as witches teddies! Good casino nite Friday in Biloxi. Won $175 at blackjack, lost most of it at Harrahs Sunday ??, excellent meal at Chophouse, so-so at Landry’s......dang that Texan wet paper towel defense...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I do enjoy a good run at blackjack.

Jan 13, 2020, 8:20 AM

They were cackling on the radio this morning about how gambling it throwing money away. I figure it is no more so throwing it away than going to play golf every or riding roller coasters.

Welp, the Tigers won in shooty hoops but I didn't die.

Jan 13, 2020, 8:19 AM

Sattidy - I decided to remind myself why Woodruff Road near the Shoppes at Gridlock is a disaster area. Took almost 30 minutes to go from the Fresh Market to Cabela's. Watched a new streak start in Chapel Hill.

Sunday - Took Ms Wilbur to the Waffle House for breakfast (Smothered, covered and topped for me). Went to Lowe's and procured a new garage door opener, but decided football was more important than an install.

Reminded myself of DAT NATTY DOE....

7/10, had a nice bottle of vino sattidy night.

Jan 13, 2020, 9:26 AM

Woodruff road used to go to two lanes right past 385, at the Merovan Center, and despite that, it consistently took about 10 minutes to get from Laurens Rd to 5 points. Those days were glorious, my friend.

I still managed to pack a lot of action into two. The highlight was spending Saturday afternoon and evening at Pier A in NYC. It was 65 degrees so the ferry ride across the river was extra pleasant.

Swampy

Jan 13, 2020, 8:22 AM

Friday church basketball games. Boys team won (I think) and son hit an almost 3 pointer which is great because he is 6. Jonathan Meeks was coaching the other team and wife said he congratulated him afterward. Dude is super nice. His daughter was on the other team. Left that game early to take daughter to her game. Pretty sure we lost that one, their kids were 6" taller than our tallest guy. Kids still had fun. BBQ afterwards.

Saturday up for a nice long-ish run, 10+ miles and decent pace. Wife had to work that afternoon, Winter Graduation, so I cleaned up the house because sweet sweet loving was promised to me if that happened. Swept, mopped, cleaned furniture, cleaned up dogs from swampy outside, washed clothes, sorted clothes, folded clothes, mopped again cause dirty dogs, vacuumed the rugs, cleaned kitchen, etc. Wife came home and we made some tie-dyes, working on our technique but we cannot quite get it right. Watched some TV, grabbed some pizza, came home put kids to bed and wife is asleep. Awesomesauce. I watched a little football and fell asleep.

Sunday church, lunch, grocery store, visit Dad in Rehab for his latest fall and brain injury then home. Take dogs out in thew swampy backyard and let them play with sister-in-law's 2 dogs. Realize it is hell back there with all the rain, go to lowes and get some straw to put out over the worst parts. Spread that in the dark, grill chicken until gas runs out (Fuck!!!) the finish them on the stove top cause oven has a problem with the temp sensor that renders it retarded. Feed everyone, get ready for next day, put kids to bed, run to Dollar General to get kids tylenol then go to bed. Remind wife about agreement for cleaning house and apparently I was mistaken or something. Not sure how that agreement worked but Imma get me a contract next time. Anyways, this weekend sucked. Gonna drink brown liquor tonight and watch the tigers.

was home so he went to the garage and either fell down the steps or fell coming back up. He walks with a walker but thought he didn't need it. Luckily someone came by about an hour later to take him to lunch. Found him on the garage floor. A week in the hospital and now in rehab for some time.

Friday made aforementioned trip to Cincinnati to say goodbye to Bill Brasky in hospice. We went straight there when we got in town, and went in the room sad, and left laughing our azzzes off. Despite having zero nutrition in a week, the old guy was true to form and still lit up the room.

Left there and stayed with some friends. They have this crazy beautiful massive Victorian house from the 1800’s, and it’s a treat just to walk around the place. Made us reverse seared filets from a local butcher and they were probably one of the top three steaks I’ve ever had.

Sat we left early, saw some other friends, saw Bill Brasky one last time, bought 6 quarts of Graeter’s ice cream for the road, wolfed down a cheese coney from Skyline, and hit the road. That effing cell of storms made for one of the worst drives of my life. Three hours straight of pouring rain, 20 foot visibility, hydroplaning, and 60 mph winds made for an exhausting drive.

Sunday, lax tourney all day at Vandy, then straight couch time. Woulda been a solid 9.5 weekend had it not been our final visit ever with Bill, and no score assigned since it was.

Jan 13, 2020, 8:34 AM

Friday, off to Greenville with the concert crew as described in aero's post. Great show, great friends, and a post-midnight stop at Cook Out.

Saturday, woke up in our Airbnb, brewed coffee, and listened to Eddy Arnold and Telly Savalas on vinyl because the place had a little turntable. 'Twas a glorious morning. Back on the road to RH early, got home just after noon and started in on chores. Late afternoon visit with RH Mom, then home to eat a quick sandwich and load up bass and beers for LOUD rock and roll jam session. Had guest players so it was disorganized, but definitely LOUD. I was tired so didn't really play my best, ended up heading home around 11:30 and crashed. Still had fun though.

Sunday, most of the day spent watching The Last Kingdom on Netflix. I recommend...never heard of it but The Mrs. had started it so we pretty much binged all three seasons Saturday and Sunday. Watched second half of Houston game at RH Mom's, then home for meatloaf and mac & cheese. Finished Last Kingdom and did not watch second NFL game.

Stellar weekend, would do again but next time I'll try to avoid late night Cook Out.

And you missed it!

Had a great time with a bunch of my internet friends as described by aero.

Zettner rode in my truck from Barley’s to the Radio Room which makes him the oldest person to ever ride in my truck.

Was great to meet Mrs. Fireball, she’s a pretty lady. Not sure why she ever married his uglyazz!

Friday worked 2 of 3 jobs, did other stuff I don’t remember

Saturday watched it rain, took all the Christmas stuff to storage, left the room to cook supper just in time for a Tigers to come back and beat those tar holes

Sunday enjoyed a glorious sun day. Friends had us to lunch on the patio at the country club. Bunch of Wofford folks at lunch with “feels good don’t it, about time, and no big thing” regards to Chapel Hole win

I finished the last piece of the outdoor kitchen on the deck - a counter for the griddle and a prep area and hooked up the drain for the sink.

Friday night I did some grocery shopping and watched Zombieland (the 1st one) I have a copy of the 2nd one I'll watch sometime this week.

Saturday I worked in the morning for a few hours before hitting the long road to Rocky Mount NC. gf's daughter had a gymnastics meet in the most ghetto of NC towns there is. We did however find a pretty good bbq joint where we had ribs, brisket and chopped beef along with yams 10 cheese mac n cheese with collards.

Sunday we hit the long road back to Murderburg, getting home in time to watch both Houston and KC shit the bed, not in that order. Watched some Cowboy show on Amazon Prime and went to bed.

This going to bed at 9-10 pm is killing me.

Jan 13, 2020, 9:02 AM

I've been sleeping 8 or 9 hrs after weeks of getting 4-6 hrs here and there. I think the 'extended,' normal type sleep is the results of the flow adrenalin over tonight's game which is now bubbling out every orifice in my body.

My only anxiety is from wondering how this old body is going to react after the we stomp a mudhole out of LSU's asz. I have the nitroglycerin here by the recliner and I'm going to eat light today to try and stave off the blood loss from any heavy digestive activity.

Please don't post pigs of half nekkid women, a chubby might do me in.

Jan 13, 2020, 10:26 AM

Friday night hung out at home and watched stupid stuff on tv. Had sexy time with wife and then went to sleep late and slept until 10.

Saturday fooled around with wife in the morning. Then up and played around with daughter and wife at home and then went to look at some houses around town in different neighborhoods. Forgot about the game until I was driving to the store to pick up a pie to take to a party that night and listened to history on the WCCP app. Then went to a brisket party at a neighbor's house - brisket was 9.5/10 - holy crap. 15 month old ate about two pounds of it. They also had quite a bar set up so I drank my share of his bourbon.

Sunday slept too late for church. Woke up and fooled around with wife. Then we cleaned the house and watched a movie called "Burn your maps" which was predictable but pretty fun to watch. Then wife and I tag teamed chicken noodle soup for the brood. Went to sleep pretty early and then woke up and fooled around this morning. Wife was in a good mood all weekend.

9/10 - +4 for sex, +4 for B-ball win, -1 for Brownell job security, +3 for brisket party, -1 for son of missing the brisket.

Friday - had boat loads of fun with the kids. Went out to dinner and had pizza. Great Friday overall.

Saturday - whoa nelly! Our peewee team smacked around some more kids and won our 5th straight. I keep hitting my head on the backboard tho, need to figure that out. Dinner at neighbors and then we left and went to the bar and got SMASHED whilst watching bball. Good times.

Sunday - took kids to church. prayed that the Lord might let me into heaven if I died all the sudden. Then I took a nap with the kids from 2-4pm. Got up, went and bought a new pair of jeans, stopped by the bar, had a couple beers and watched the Texans lose in epic fashion. Then back home to cook burgers and blue cheese salad for the inlaws and family.

10/10 - would do over 1000x
