Shaq Lawson details reasons for turning pro

Shaq Lawson doesn’t want to be a distraction, and he doesn’t want to mess with the good vibrations surrounding the Clemson so he told the nation last week that he has decided to forego his senior season and declare for the NFL Draft.

Not to sound odd here...but what did he say was his reason? Story seems to detail why he chose to tell everyone, why he chose the timing, and what he did with his family and other players to make the decision, but the article title says he "details reasons". Likely should have said "details reasons for announcing he is turning pro"

He said because he wanted to . Detailed enough .

Shouldn't the article state that? Title says he details the reasons for "turning pro"...then doesn't state why he did, just states why he chose to tell everyone.

Re: $$$ that's why***

Yes, but what I got out of it was he just feels like it's the right time for HIM. That's why he said he couldn't give advice to his teammates. They have to do what's right for them. I don't like when guys leave early because anything can happen and what you thought was guaranteed, isn't, while a degree can be used more than sports. Perhaps he will tell us later if the real reason was money related or whatever.

Pretty obvious he believes his paycheck will be big enough to make him happy, at least in his mind. I tend to agree. I see him as a 1st round pick who will be able to have an imediate impact for somebody. Think about it. With his work ethic, intelligence and proven skills, he should easily eclipse some other DE's. Granted some have the skills and the potential, but the other 2 attributes were missing. Shaq may not run as fast, but he sure delivers, and he doesn't take games, practices, or even plays off. He is a baller, and he will deliver.

Joey Boss is a peer?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No explanation needed here. You can always go to college.

Dec 15, 2015, 12:43 PM

You only have a short shelf life for football. Go make the most of it!

Good luck Shaq but this article doesn't explain his reason

Dec 15, 2015, 12:49 PM

for going pro. Just said he is going pro and got the announcement out of the way before the next too games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's pretty obvious that he KNEW we were going to get

Dec 15, 2015, 12:51 PM

Dexter Lawrence, and he was clearly afraid of losing his starting spot.

Remember, 5 stars > pretty much everything else.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why doesn't the article just state the obivous

Dec 15, 2015, 1:00 PM

its like one of those fb headlines with the "...and you'll never believe what happened next..."

I read the article and to no one's surprise, I believed what happened next.

I can't tell if you're joking or serious, smh******

1) Hope you are kidding
2) DL is a DT, not a DE. Not that Clemson wouldn't move him to DE, but likely not, and there's nothing that says they plan to.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's about 60-70lbs that says he won't

Dec 15, 2015, 3:51 PM

You are not moving a 340lb tackle or nose to the end...not happening.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah that was totally it.

Dec 15, 2015, 3:49 PM [ in reply to It's pretty obvious that he KNEW we were going to get ]

A 1st team All-American Defensive End is afraid of losing his starting gig to a 340 lb Defensive Tackle, who isn't even on campus yet.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's why he HAS TO BE joking or being facetious******

Kearse is the only other one that is pro ready out of that group.

Dec 15, 2015, 5:16 PM

Mack is good but not as good as last year. He's been dropping coverage and getting burnt more than last year. I'd say he needs at least 1 more year. Leggett has had a good season. Good not great. I'd say he isn't ready for the work ethic of the NFL. Gallman seems to get better as he goes. I don't think he's reached his full potential yet. That's how good I think he is even now. Also he is a RB and they don't seem to value those as much these days in the NFL& he is still a bit skinny for the NFL.
