A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship

We have something Rome didn't... TERM LIMITS.

If 4 or even 8 years can wreck the entire country/governmental system then we had bigger problems to begin with.

the GOP can thank itself for electing a robot candidate. they mistreated the only youth vote it had by blasting Ron Paul. they deserve every bit of this. the GOP was going to get it's way with it's war-mongering and prohibition agenda and lost its base.

This great country that I swore to defend has been led by CICs of many persuasions. I have proudly served them all. I will still do all I can to improve it including healthcare for all and the end if discrimination of women and minorities. I happen to love my country through good times and bad. I look forward to the good times to come. Peace.
