Duke goes - best regular season percentage.

Knew that rainout at Maryland would hurt us

May 23, 2014, 9:48 PM

Had we played that 3rd game up at Maryland and had won, then we would have been tied with Duke in regular season record and tied at 4-5. Different result then? Had a feeling at the time that not getting the chance to play that game could end up hurting us.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

True. That said, it shouldn't have come down to that.....

May 23, 2014, 9:54 PM

We should not be satisfied with a .500 record in a conference we used to be a solid contender in every year....getting old.

Pool Play STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN

May 23, 2014, 9:53 PM [ in reply to Dude, I am trying really hard to disabuse you of confusion. ]

Pool play stinks to high heaven. Somehow some way need to put an end to that nonsense and go back to double elimination in some form. Even like Omaha would work. Make it a week-long affair with 2 groups of 8 and then a single game championship. Why is one 2-1 record better than another? Makes no sense. Also makes no sense to allow the winner of a play-in game to have a consistent three-day run of all 3 games at the same time(GT actually had 4 straight days of 3pm games.) Tell me that is not at least a slight advantage. Why give that to play-in winner! Good old ACC trying to purposely make things weird so that it dilutes the strength of regular season and makes it more likely that 1 of the Big 4 reaches final game.
